The weather in Shreveport has been crazy this past week and the barometer has been going up and down. So have my headaches.

I'm still saying there is some link here. I get a lot worse when this happens. Have been on cafergot daily (not something I take lightly) but it's the only thing that will give me relief.

This is a bummer.....

;;D ;;D I know we have talked about this many times, I am with you, I have a very distinct affect in coralation to the barometric pressure and storm fronts!
During this time of year it's not uncommon for me to have as many as 12 to 15 hits a day! Pappy

Whenever it storms and hails in Sydney it storms and hails in DH's head too :(

During those days, the best things to do is to stay curled up in a nice warm comfy bed, for both of us !

Heavy rain at night and throughout night (without lightning) seems to provoke hell in my head. Sometimes lightning storms though seem to have a very good effect, other times not so good--it's like they either bring relief or make HAs worse. This nice cool, clear, crisp non-raining fall weather seems to be helping this week although the beast is still there. Star

I also have Ankylosing Spondylitis. (Kind of a fusing of the spine). Fronts comming in and out kick my butt. As my wife reminds me, you may feel like it, but at least you're not dying. Damn optimists! Dick

I haven't be able to link mine to weather or seasons. One year I'll get hit at a certain time of the year or in certain weather, the next time, I'm pain free. My CHs are very random, still tring to figure them out.

Storm fronts (cold fronts) and my head are known enemys as well. The noggin can tell about 3 hours prior to when the fronts will hit.

I'm finding this discussing quite interesting. See, my CH hubby NEVER reacts to weather while in cycle, doesn't make a damn bit of difference to him.

We live in an area where we get "Chinooks" - a warm wind coming in over the Rocky Mountains that can cause our temperatures here to increase by 20 degrees in the matter of a few hours. We get what is called a " Chinook arch" over the mountains - here's picture (and an article) of one...

When this arch happens, I KNOW I am going to be headachy for at least a couple of days. Not full blown migraine for me, more sinusy than anything but still extremely painful. The ONLY thing that gives me relief is steam and heat applied directly to my face. Our air is so dry here that when a Chinook comes it, it depletes out what little moisture is there. Many Calgarians suffer when a Chinook comes in and our weather forecasters always warn the migrainers when one is on it's way, because it's such a common reaction. I'm the same way with most storms, actually - not just Chinooks. I have a paternal aunt who also suffers from migraine and temporal arteritis and she has a horrible time with our weather here.

Honest to God, though - Mike just doesn't get any cluster activity at all when our weather changes. Is he the ONLY clusterhead that doesn't? Or does this only affect folks who have cluster AND migraine (Like I know you do, Barb)?

Can't say that the weather makes any difference to me, but then again there is little change between summer & winter here, that's about our weather HOT for six months cool for the other.

One of the aspects of the Chinook Winds is that they blow rapidly and can cause a very quick shift in temperature. Hence the saying "If you don't like the weather in Calgary, wait five minutes".

I often get the perfect mimic of a CHit on descent in small aircraft, undoubtedly pressure related, and it's all over within a minute of landing. Never happened while I was sky-diving, thank goodness.

Barometric pressure dosn't seem to bother me at all. Rappid rise >85 deg. in the spring was a trigger.

I wonder if the folks succeptable to barometric perssure are also arthritic? Perhaps the arthritis causes release of histamines which is the trigger.

Big barometric change....bang! Spring and Fall are a bitch. Also noticed years ago that I was always wearing shades on the way to the O2 shop. Wasn't the sunshine, was the high front pushing it.

No arthritis here.

AH-HA!!!

We had massive storms in July that this area hasn't seen in over 50 years. Incredible damage. Some Ameren workers who were fixing the power lines here and parts of St Louis said we had damage equal to Katrina, due to the high winds tearing trees and powerlines down.

We also had a MASSIVE high pressure bubble that stayed over us for a few days, and that was when my leg started up (early, usually waits til about October to give out) and then a few days later, went back into cycle.

I was wondering if this could have caused it, and now I am almost certain after reading Margi's comment - since I also have migraines. What is odd though is, I had ALOT of migraines while out of CH cycle, but have only had a couple in the past two months.
