Title: Song & Movie Post by BigCoffinHunter on Sep 20th, 2006, 7:59pm Anyone familiar with the Slipknot song "Duality"? Starts out "I push my fingers into my eyes...it's the only thing that slowly stops the ache". It's like my theme song. On a related note, seen the movie Pi? The character was modeled after a girl who got clusters. They didn't call them that, but she described them as waking her up at the same time every day. |

Title: Re: Song & Movie Post by BigCoffinHunter on Sep 20th, 2006, 8:28pm I saw Pi before I started getting CHs. When my first cycle started, it was the first thing I pulled out. I watched it with my girlfriend at the time, and it was like wow I do that, that's how you act, damn I've been on those same meds. |

Title: Re: Song & Movie Post by sandie99 on Sep 21st, 2006, 2:26am Pi has come up in here often. I haven't seen that myself, but this reminds me to look it up. I'm downloading that song as I type! Those lyrics made me curious about it. Sanna |

Title: Re: Song & Movie Post by chopmyheadoff on Sep 21st, 2006, 3:10am this reminds me . . . . years ago when i was small i remember an episode of casualty (for people in the uk) On it there was a guy who came into the hospital screaming in pain but the docs could find nothing wrong with him. and there was a side story of another bloke who was in the hospital and he saw what was going on and said he had read a study somewhere and to try oxygen. all the doctors brushed him off and the bloke in pain ended up smashing up the a+e department coz no body would help him.. eventually they tried the oxygen and the pain went away and the bloke was all apologetic. iv never realised until now but this bloke must have been a ch sufferer. !! Im gonna email the bbc and see if there is any way i can get my hands on this ep :) |

Title: Re: Song & Movie Post by davyp on Sep 21st, 2006, 6:53am Hi Chomp, Dont know if it is the same episode that you are thinking of but i remember watching a similar story on casualty some years ago and it was a security guard in the A&E who told the docs it was clusters and that they should put him on O2 as his brother (i think) suffered from CH and if i remember right they didnt try it until the patient had gone mental and trashed the place. Title: Re: Song & Movie Post by Filbert on Sep 21st, 2006, 7:55am You are spot on Dape. The episode was broadcast in January 04 for the first time. The man was diagnosed as migraine and sent away by one doc. He then had an attack and the security guy recognised the symptoms as his brother in law had it. The original doc got very angry with the security guy but her boss looked up the condition and agreed it was CH. The man was put on 02 at a high rate. I am certain that one of the former trustees of ouchuk had a friend who was a scriptwriter and he took her advice before he wrote it. Chop I have a copy on video. If you would like to borrow it let me know and I'll try to dig it out. Fil. |
