Title: Re: memory trouble Post by Barry_T_Coles on Sep 17th, 2006, 8:19pm Hi Kari I think you’ll find just about everyone here has that problem when in cycle. Yellow post it notes became about the only way I could remember anything outside of a 5 minute memory span. Below is an extract from a previous post about Taurine. “The most noticeable thing is that I have got my memory back after so many months of frustration, I can now go to the shed to get something and actually remember what I went there for, instead of standing there wondering what the hell I was doing there.” If you want to look at the thread here’s the link. http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=meds;action=display;num=1146013283;start=25 Kind Regards Barry |

Title: Re: memory trouble Post by starlight on Sep 17th, 2006, 8:54pm Totally have that problem in cycle--will run back into the house from car to get something I forgot and then stand there looking around trying to figure out why I am there--can't even remember that I forgot something. Also have trouble remembering names of things--books, people, street names but then I always have problems remembering names of things. |

Title: Re: memory trouble Post by Carl_D on Sep 18th, 2006, 2:33am Were my head not up my ass half of the time I'd lose my mind. Yes, bad memory loss. But had a photographic memory as a kid, and potential. Then we moved to fucking Chernobyl!!! LOL. Funny thing is, I can remember as far back as 1 1/2 years old, but can barely remember 2 days ago, or minutes ago. Is this thread on monkeys again? :o Carl D |

Title: Re: memory trouble Post by BarbaraD on Sep 18th, 2006, 7:04am I just blame it on getting "older", but yes there's memory loss. Sometimes it's from the meds, but the headaches and exhaustion can cause this also. Post It Notes on everything.... And live with it.... Hugs BD |

Title: Re: memory trouble Post by Gator on Sep 18th, 2006, 8:06am Memory loss? You betcha. It's called CRS around here. (Can't Remember Shi...uh...Stuff ;) ) Varying degrees of memory loss are common in people experiencing severe chronic pain. Depression intensifies the effect and the meds we take can compound the problem even further. On the positive side, memory usually improves as the pain subsides and you come off the meds. Me, I carry a little notebook and a pen, but half the time when I do remember to write a note, I forget that I wrote it. I use post it notes, when I remember. My monitors are ringed with them. The problem can be that when you get accustomed to seeing the little yellow buggers there all the time, they kind of blend to the background and you don't see them. Maybe the multi colored ones would help to break that cycle. As one comes down, another of a different color goes in it's place. eh, it's a thought. |

Title: Re: memory trouble Post by sailpappy on Sep 18th, 2006, 9:34am ;;D ;;D As a long term Chronic (35years) the only memory loss I have been made aware of occured while taking Lithium, there was substancial memory loss while on this medication and it took years for my memory to straighten out! I think I am better now, "What were we talking about?" John(aka Pappy) http://home.comcast.net/~jhallahan2/wsb/media/299782/site1270.gif |

Title: Re: memory trouble Post by SophiaK on Sep 18th, 2006, 8:23pm I can hold a conversation with someone while I am getting a tolerable hit, after the conversation I don't remember what we talked about. If the hit is bad enough I just excuse myself and say 'we'll talk a little later'. My favorite place is the kitchen calender with the big boxes, I write everything there I need to remember, as long as I remember to put it there. |

Title: Re: memory trouble Post by Chonas on Sep 18th, 2006, 8:39pm I do have that problem in cycle. There's one thing that I'd like to forget, but it is always present (even when I'm not in cycle), it is called CH. |
