Title: Testosterone Post by Mattrf on Aug 30th, 2006, 9:56pm Ok so most of you know I have SUNCT not CH but a distant cousin of CH. Well I just finished three days at the Mayo clinic in Scottsdale seeing a Dr. David Dodick. The doc took a serious interest in me, he ran a MRI that had me in the tube for like an hour, they also drew six things of blood for testing. I went in today to get the results and the good news was there was no tumor, and that was one of the things they thought may be causing my SUNCT, but none found but the interesting thing they did find was in the blood work. Now this guy is supposed to be the best headache guy in the country if not the world, and I have to tell you he is the tops very interested and thorough. Now he said that there are a couple meds that he would like to try that I had not taken yet, amazing as that is since in the last four years I figured I have been on every medicine known to man. He told me my testosterone levels where way off, normal is like 70/320 and mine was 30/120 and he said that low levels could cause SUNCT and also CH. So I am on a treatment now, some goo I smear on my shoulder once a day and should know in less then two weeks if this was it, so have any of you had your testosterone levels checked? Just a thought. You have to apply Testosterone gel to the upper body, i.e. chest, shoulders. If you apply it lower or directly in the manhood area, it can cause prostate swelling and cause other problems. My doc just put me back on the Androgel. I had to go on it a couple of years ago because my levels had dropped pretty massive and even though I was out of cycle for 5 1/2 months... it dropped again in that period. I wonder if that had anything to do with me cycling again. :-/ Peace, Carl |

Title: Re: Testosterone Post by Mattrf on Sep 4th, 2006, 11:34am I have been on the crap for 6 days and no change and my head is killing me right now. I hate waking up with this way, normally I get at least 10 or 15 minutes some times more before it starts but when it is there when I wake up, I feel like I never went to sleep. Sorry just feeling really crappy right now. Matt :'( |
