Title: Painfree CH? Post by Bond007 on Aug 29th, 2006, 2:44pm Yeah, that's right. I've got my typical symptoms: left nasal congestion, bloodshot left eye, constricted left pupil, post-nasal drip, left ear is on fire (as well as left side of face), etc., but no pain for the most part. I've had some twinges of CH pain throughout the day, but nothing's lasted. I've heard of painfree migraines. My dad gets those fairly regularly. Has anyone heard of or does anyone get a painfree CH? Title: Re: Painfree CH? Post by MJ on Aug 29th, 2006, 5:20pm They are called silent clusters. For 30 years I suffered frequently with them between the full cycles. daily and frequent silent hits. All the cluster symptoms, droopy and bloodshot eye, nasal congestion and drip. but no associated pain. my skin on the face and the temple area would become cold and sweat would pour from my brow. duration of a silent hit would last 30 min to an hour. often times the hits would be accompanied by exhaustion. Interesting since busting with RC seeds this has not occured in months now for me. I used to think all CHers suffered these. Guess not. I would certainly prefer the silents over the others. |

Title: Re: Painfree CH? Post by Bond007 on Aug 30th, 2006, 8:17am Thanks for all the info, gang! I was starting to worry about when the pain would set in, but it never did. The symptoms came and went periodically all day yesterday. I was almost afraid to go to sleep last night. However, I still slept like a baby, thank God! |

Title: Re: Painfree CH? Post by pattik on Aug 30th, 2006, 8:57am Doctors are suspecting that there could be a whole array of assoicated autonomic symptoms that can happen with or without the headache. Our hypothalamus has a huge influence on us. I've been tracking these symptoms in myself, now that I'm becoming aware of them. They're aggravating, but they sure still don't hold a candle to the headaches. ;) |

Title: Re: Painfree CH? Post by Margi on Aug 30th, 2006, 10:14am Yep. My hubby gets the silent attacks every day while in remission. His eye does the chicken and his ear goes bright red. He can't usually feel it, other than he sometimes stuffs up, but I sure see it. I've got a trained eye for cluster eyes, though - I'm sure most supporters do - and I'm always on the lookout for them. Every day around 4:30 until about 5:15, his eye is constricted. I'm not sure how many other times during the day this is happening because he's at work and, like I said, often doesn't realize it's happening. It's pretty freaky to watch but, hell - SO much better than the real attacks. However, it's a constant reminder that there is a time bomb ticking in the closet for him and we're never really free of this. He's been "silent chronic" like this since he first tried the psilocybin treatment. He's due to go into cycle again this fall so we're going to try the seeds this time. He is completely med free and has been since last September (2005) when his last cycle ended. I'll be interested to see if the seeds can also bust this silent stuff. |

Title: Re: Painfree CH? Post by Chonas on Aug 31st, 2006, 2:00pm I do have plenty of Phantom Clusters. I don't care too much about them, they also increase their frecuency when I'm getting close to a Cluster Headache cycle in person. |
