I have never posted anything on this site before. I have had Chs since I was 7 years old and I am now 43. I have been to numerous Docs. and been on every med and combination they could come up with. It was only 6 years ago when I was actually diagnosed with CHs. For all those years I was being treated for migraines. Nothing helped. no meds, bioFB, Vitamins etc...

The following I want everyone to take great care with. I am not a doctor. Nevertheless I HAVE found something that has broke my CHs, and let me tell you this year I was at the end of my rope!!! I could not take this anymore!!!

I was in the third week of my episode, which will last a minimum of 11 weeks a year. There is a product on the market now called "DMSO" (DIMETHYLSULFOXIDE). You can get it at a vitamin store or on the innternet. for about $7 for 8 oz. It is a liquid.

i PUT A LITTLE ON MY THUMB...
CLOSE MY LEFT EYE VERY TIGHT...
RUB IT ALL AROUND MY EYE LEID AND EYE BROW AND EDGE OF MY NOSE...

i DID THIS IN THE MIDDLE OF A GIANT ATTACK. WITHIN 15 MINUTES THE HEADACH MOVED FROM MY EYE ORBITAL TO ACROSS MY FORHEAD. FELT MUCH LIKE A REGULAR HEADCH, IF YOU HAVE NET EATEN OR DRANK ANYTHING ALL DAY. JUST A REGULAR HEAD ACHE. i TOOK TWO IBUPROFIN AND THAT HEADACHE WAS GONE. i KEEP THIS DMSO WITH ME AT ALL TIMES NOW. AS SOON AS I GET THAT FEELING I RUB SOME WROUND MY EYE. THE FEELING GOES AWAY WITHIN MINUTES...

I TALKED ABOUT THIS WITH MY DOCTOR WHO WENT INTO A RESONABLE EXPLANATION OF WHY THIS WORKED. IT ALSO DOES WONDERS FOR ARTHRITIS SUFFERES AND ALL TYPES OF BODY ACHES AND PAINS.

I AM BACK IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING. THIS IS NO CURE BUT NO PAIN. YOU WILL FEEL A SLIGHT BURNING SENSATION FOR ABOUT THREE TO 5 SECONDS.

THIS IS JUST A HEADS UP. I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS POSTING FOR SEVETRAL WEEKS. I DO NOT WANT HARM TO COME TO ANY CHs'S... WE ALL HAVE HAD ENOUGH ALREADY. LOOK INTO THIS AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!

Glad you found something that works so successfully for you.

Do you remember much of what the Doc said about why it might work?

Thanks for the info, E. It doesn't appear to be a medication for Ch at all. I would also be interested in learning why the doc prescribed it and his/her expaination as to why rubbing a bladder medication on the face affects CH.

DMSO's been around for a long time. I've never heard of it being used for CH, though. Can't speak to efficacy.

Weird stuff. It increases the absorbency of the skin. If you cut an onion and hold it in your hand, you can taste it.

It will also facilitate absorption of other organic chemicals through the skin. So if you're handling fertilizer or insecticide or something like that, be extremely careful.

Apparently it has anti-inflammation effects and can reduce nerve pain

Very interesting.

I had actually read about DMSO some years back when it was being looked at as a drug delivery method through the skin.
I hadnt realized its stand alone antiinflamatory abilities.
Certainly worth a closer look but dont expect a kiss.

My dad's a veterinarian. They used that on horses if I remember correctly back in the 60's. Long distance runners used it for sore muscles. Can't really remember much about it, but seemed to have some nasty side effects. Also would leave a molassas taste in your mouth. I think it would crystalize (looked frozen) at room temp. Same stuff? Dick Apply directly to the forehead, apply directly to the forehead, apply directly to the forehead.
