Title: CH and eye diseases Post by SCAZ on Aug 27th, 2006, 2:10am CH entered my life in 1982 after the birth of my daughter. In 1992 they became chronic, and with the CH an eye disease also appeared. The exaserbations seem to worsen together. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced eye problems after years of CH. |

I stopped ALL my meds and now I live in fear that it will come back...........it proves that you can win and lose at the same time!! |

Title: Re: CH and eye diseases Post by SCAZ on Aug 27th, 2006, 3:08am Thanks for the reply!! I've been doing better than anytime in the past 14 years, but august is usually a pretty bad month with the CH. I thought that just maybe I would get through it ok, but things are starting to heat up. I remember seeing a broadcast on one of the discovery channels, years ago, that featured a man from the UK who had his pupil divide in two. This was after years of CH. I haven't had many 10's in the past few months. I think it was refered to as shadows. Pain that keeps me from functioning normally, but not the 10. I'm on less meds than anytime in the past 14 yrs, but live in fear of what awaits. I'm in the hurricane katrina area and lost my doctor due to the post storm changes. I recently saw a neuro who told me that he had "very bad migranes and has never been to the ER for them". I don't think he was even familiar with CH. I did notice that the ouch had a listing of drs. Do you know of any other resourse for dr recommendations? |

Title: Re: CH and eye diseases Post by Charlotte on Aug 27th, 2006, 11:28am In preparation for my visit to the neurologist on 8-4-06, I got a copy of the former neuro's report and went to the eye dr. She was fantastic and wrote out a short report for the neuro. No large change in RX; nystagmus on R gaze since at least a child; mild tritan color anomolous (violet-greenish-yellowish) since at least high school; visual field: normal on automatic screening; corneal suttata (not affecting eye health or vision); no sign of papilledema or other ocular abnormality during dilated fundus exam. Intraocular pressure OD: 17, OS: 16. Best corrected vision 20/20. So, same old wierdness, nothing new. However, I have a good med plan currently, and when I get hit, my eyes do not focus and the nystagmus kicks in big time. --------- How many dr.s are left your area? Did the migraine neuro listen to you and help you or was that a total waste of time? Charlotte |

Title: Re: CH and eye diseases Post by SophiaK on Aug 27th, 2006, 2:04pm Are you on meds? Some meds can cause alittle problem with vision. Check your meds. I get distorted vision with Head Pain, some meds will cause some eye damage. |

No, I don know of other resources for recommended doctors. But, those doctors listed at the OUCH site have all proven their worth to real cluster sufferers and members of this board. |
