Title: Here we go again(ramblings of a Clusterhead) Post by rbmb on Aug 23rd, 2006, 8:16pm After about 9 months of no HAs, I was enjoying a glass of wine last night when I started getting that familar burning pain behind my left eye which quickly turned into a full blown CH. 9 months is the longest I've gone headache free since I started getting these things. Looks like I'm on the wagon now. I won't drink any alcohol and I won't get any HAs for a few days and then I'll start waking up around midnight with that old familar pain. I have weapons ready: Dr's office said they would write a script for Predsione, have a script for Topomax I can refill and one for DHE injections too. I'm not excited about having to put all that crap in my body, but none of the less invasive treatments (O2, melatonin, etc.) have worked. I haven't tried shrooms, but I did that stuff in my old drug days and don't feel like going back there. I'd like to think that overpowering these things with meds when they first start to appear might stop them but past experience is that they seem to run their course no matter what measures you take. I'm noticing that the periods between cycles is getting longer but the cycles last longer too. I've also noticed that I get tension headaches in the late afternoon and evenings for a week or two before the CHs start, so I had some warning of what was coming. Rich |

Rich you may want to read up at www.clusterbusters.com I'm sorry it seem's that they're back but I don't blame you at all for having your arsenal ready. Have you ever read the kudzu threads here? They might be of interest to you and also have a look at the red bull threads, alot of us are finding that very effective as are people using Taurine. All are alternative options to conventional treatments that are proving to have a degree of success for some of us. Good luck with whatever you do, I hope you kick beastie arse but we'll be backing you all the way Helen |

Title: Re: Here we go again(ramblings of a Clusterhead) Post by BarbaraD on Aug 25th, 2006, 7:04am Get some REd Bull and try drinking that at the first sign of CH. It might help. And remember what didn't work last time MIGHT work this time. Hugs BD |
