Title: What Is A Shadow?

This might be a dumb question but what exactly is a shadow> Is it the feeling of a headache coming on??? Like foreshadow of a headache?

A shadow is the feeling of a mild CH without the CH really kicking into gear & going up the kip scale

I've got a dandy going right now. Feels like a normal headache (if there is any such thing) that you just know is waiting to escalate into an ass-kicker. You just don't know when. Kinda like a loaded gun pointed at you with a string tied to the doorknob and the trigger. It's gunna happen. I think the anticipation is worse than the pain. Not articulated very well, but I think you get the point.

What driving blind said. Only my shadows are a mild headache with CH claws scratching just behind your eye so you know it's probably coming. I rarely get just shadows. Mine will linger for up to an hour or two then I get hit.

Shadows happen very often after alternative, clusterbuster style therapy.

Just like a normal hit but without the pain - sure sign that the thing has shifted and really sunny days are ahead.

I can't remember who here said it, but it's like the engine is running and waiting for someone to step on the gas.

Ghost also explains it in the helpful hints thread, above, as:  Shadow - some of the symptoms but without a measurable amount of pain (pressure).

Driving blind, I think you articulated very well.  I had a chill of dread.

Guiseppe, let the cat out.  I've got this mental picture now of a cat scratching to get out, behind your eyeballs.

Anything under a Kip 5.  With that, I can still walk around and sneer at it.  Anything over is a "hit".

Super Irish, there is no dumb question.  Except sometimes when we are joking and we put those in daily chat - for fun and lightening of the mood.

Until this year, I had never heard of a shadow or the kip scale or met another person with these types of headaches.

Like Georgej, I thought anything 5 or lower was pain free.

I know it's late, but I don't think I welcomed you.  Welcome aboard.
