I wane tell people about the beast, can anybody help me where to start??? I dont want to "scare" them but I will let them now what it is and why I have some bad days. We have a montley meating and I want to tell them a litle about CH.

Please help me to start...

You don't want them to be prejudiced and think you can not ever work but you want them to understand sometimes you are there but not available because of the pain.

It'll take you to a letter for colleagues, friends, family, etc. It's very good at explaining what CH is, and what you are dealing with when you are getting hit with an attack. Good luck.

The colleague letter is great! It helped do the job for me and really educated people who know me about how I am affected.

I think the best you can do is tell everyone the truth. I used to hide what was happening to me and ended up hiding from the world because people would talk about me and my sometimes strange behaviour - my sudden unexplained exits from places.

Now people know why I am as I am, I feel much more relaxed - though still sometimes very 'odd' when I'm out in the world!

The letter does wonders. It sets in with most people a little more than trying to explain on your own. When someone at work actually sees ya get hit, then they'll REALLY understand.

I worked for the Sheriff's Office for 17 years before I switched to the Public Defender's. I found that during the inevitable politics, both my heachaches and my age were used as tools to try to get me to retire. This was done in a sneaky way so as not to attract attention, all the way up to where I said "lawyer".

Instead, I transferred to a smaller Department with a bunch of passionate, entertaining, noisy people, including more than 2 dozen lawyers of my very own, and I still get to see my law enforcement friends when I run in and out of the courthouse. Been there 14 1/2 months.
I don't believe in full disclosure, but I do believe in explaining to clear up potential misunderstandings. And I believe in lawyers.

When on 02, everyone at work knew how to turn it on and to what number, how to put it in my nose, and to time me. Usually it's better to explain to employer than to get a hit and they think you're faking it.
