Title: Beast is Now Freaking Me Out Post by starlight on Aug 6th, 2006, 3:31pm Hey Everybody, Needed to vent a bit. Well, more just kind of freaked out. Just finished week 4 of cycle (2 or 3 more to go). Things had been going very well--even had a few totally pain free nights along with one night where I only had two night headaches (but this was kind of cool b/c they started at 5 am rather than 1:30 am which normally signifies ok they are breaking through but they are tapering off/ losing power). Normally I get these headaches every two hours at night (when they break through). Anyhow, last night was not good. Didn't up dosages b/c things had been going so well. So, ok...last night I got hit EVERY HOUR beginning at 2 am. Also, this may sound bizarre but the past three nights or so it is like I am awake during some of my dreams or what I mean is THINKING while I am dreaming. Around the hours of 3-5 am I will be thinking while I am dreaming you should be up now you overslept why sleep when you could be up ok get up make some coffee and be up ok let's get rolling stop sleeping get up. I now that it is between these hours roughly b/c I will then be awakened by a headache. I guess I probably sound crazy. Motrin doesn't trigger these headaches does it? Well, anyway, hopefully in two weeks or so they will be gone. STarlight |

Title: Re: Beast is Now Freaking Me Out Post by starlight on Aug 6th, 2006, 8:31pm Hey all, kind of tired--I think I meant to ask can anyone remember with their cycles is this normal part of peaking? I am a wee bit freaked right now cause this whole cycle they have been 2 hours apart (like clockwork) when they would break though at night. Last night they were one hour apart (aborted with O2 6 total) and I am like what the hell is going on here? Can that be a typical part of "peaking"--that they CHANGE PATTERN I guess you would say along with increased frequency? |

Title: Re: Beast is Now Freaking Me Out Post by Charlotte on Aug 6th, 2006, 9:10pm The headaches that I have do peak in intensity and come almost back to back at the end of minicycles within the longer cycles. After a point, they subside and a new minicycle begins. I sometimes seem to get stuck in the rem stage, even when awake. At this time, I don't use tylenol or any over the counter med except Anacin or benedryl because even a single usage seems to cause a rebound type headache. I hope this breaks & you get some relief soon. Charlotte |

Title: Re: Beast is Now Freaking Me Out Post by starlight on Aug 6th, 2006, 10:59pm Hey Charlotte, Sorry you can relate about that kind of frequency. It is no fun at all--that kind of relentlessness. Things were getting much better and then I guess the beast morphed or something--it was freaky too cause it was every hour on the hour 2:00 am, 300:am, 4:00 am, 5:00 am, 6:00 am, 7:00 am-- that was annoying as well as flabbergasting and making me feel a little defeated. The motrin I was taking for an ear infection (yep,,,same side of head as the CH)--then when ear infection started clearing up the beast "morphed". Well I am hoping the beast will chill, am upping dosages tonight. Thanks for the support. I hope you are doing well. Starlight |

Title: Re: Beast is Now Freaking Me Out Post by kevinpix on Aug 7th, 2006, 12:16am Well, it's probably that REM sleep may be a trigger for you, it is for me. I have to "cat nap" throughout the day to get enough sleep to function. Meletonin works for people who DON'T trigger from REM, so it works against us in the long run. It sucks that what works for one doesn't for the others. Just try to calm yourself, and know we are here to help you get through it as a team effort!! Big hopes for a pain free tomorrow!! |

It also works for those of us who do. |
