Title: Are you in cycle right now? Post by sandie99 on Jul 15th, 2006, 2:38am I was just wondering that who is in cycle now? Who is in remission? How are our chronics taking take summertime? I'll start. I'm back being episodic (yahoo!) and I consider myself to be PF. The heat did bring little shadows with it, but it's okay. I did get hit two weeks ago, but luckily for me, it didn't last long (I'm grateful about that because I was in a car during the hit and no Red Bull/any other ch meds around). I keep caffeine tablets with me now and a can of energy drink in my fridge, just in case. Wishing PF summerdays to all, Sanna |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by frizzle on Jul 15th, 2006, 6:35am 6 weeks into a cycle I'm trying to be as med free as possible. I'm at the just-shoot-me-in-the-face stage. |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by jenrob2006 on Jul 15th, 2006, 8:50am I am in a cycle that according to previos ones, should be ending in two to three weeks. No telling. We just moved from FLorida to SC and it started. I would not think there would be too much difference in the summer weather between the two states. My heart breaks for the chronics. :'( Much love you guys! [smiley=hug.gif] |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by E-Double on Jul 15th, 2006, 9:08am Since March 2004. I have high and low cycles within that are even more defined since off meds. I feel better about it that I atleast get a clear cut few days off here Life's good |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by Guiseppi on Jul 15th, 2006, 11:37am I THINK I'm still episodic since by definition I have to go 4 more months without a break before I am officially chronic. My cycles usually go for two to three months, this one should have left me by January. Every time I go pain free for 4 weeks I am supposed to go off my lithium. Everytime I've gone off my lithium I get SLAMMED! I don't know if it's the weird weather this year, me getting older, or the Chinese sending radio waves into my brain. But for now I am the comfortable resting place for his royal pain in the ass, the beast! Guiseppi |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by ShaneM on Jul 15th, 2006, 3:03pm Episodic. Following Drs orders to the letter for the first time ever (Meds that is) and starting to think that it is just dragging the cycle out. I am in the duration of year for the cycle but it usually only last 6 wks. I am on my 10th wk. The only reason I am PF at the moment is because of a high taper of prednisone. I should be off of that next wk and we will know for sure. Still shadowy though, not really pain, but there is a pressure of sorts in the HA temporal area. Any thoughts? Shane |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by kcopelin on Jul 15th, 2006, 3:09pm Episodic from 1981 until March 2005-chronic daily since March. On the positive side, I don't have to be anxious about the next cycle or hit-they come every day. Fortunately, melatonin and benadryl have knocked off the night time hits-otherwise I would not be posting. Hope everyone get a break, for goodness sake! PFDAN, Kathy |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by kcopelin on Jul 15th, 2006, 3:13pm Guiseppi, thought you were out of cycle-did the beast return? I'm so sorry to hear that my friend. PF wishes for you, bro. Kathy |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by Guiseppi on Jul 15th, 2006, 5:56pm Went 8 days pain free and started doing my end zone, life is good, happy dance!^%$^$&%$&$##^% Apparently I was only on the 5 yard line. On the plus side, the lithium is still mostly holding it at bay so relative to many on this board I can't bitch. But it is starting to look like I may be turning the chronic corner. Guiseppi |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by Thomas_Martin on Jul 15th, 2006, 6:12pm Chronic and been hit hard these last few days. Had 3 kip 8's within a space of 4 hours in the night. I blame it one the weather and my allergies. For some reason I usually get hit harder while my hayfever rages. That was one of does days where you actually feel more tired when you wake up then when you went to bed. |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by rhino on Jul 15th, 2006, 11:05pm Episodic for thirty years, now I am four months into a cycle and no end in site. My Neurologist put me in the hospital for three days saying that would knock it out, No luck with that. I have taken about every med I have read about on this site, no luck. The thought of being chronic makes me sick to my stomach,, how do you deal with this shit on a full time basis. Randy [smiley=huh.gif] |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by TxBasslady on Jul 17th, 2006, 1:13am Episodic No definite cycle. My hits are random....can come anytime...but most always at night. I use Excedrin Migraine for shadows....that has worked very well for me. Also a cup of hot tea will kick a shadow for me. Always happy to hear that one is pf, Sanna. :-* Jean |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by Melissa on Jul 17th, 2006, 9:04am Episodic. Unexpected cycle was Dec.05'-Jan06'. Used to get my cycle every 18 months or so, now I'm worried it'll be every year or completely sporadic. Guess I'll just have to wait and see! :-/ |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by toonzboss on Jul 18th, 2006, 1:11am Definitely Sanna, I had been PF from 02 to about 10 weeks ago and I think I am coming out of a cycle simply because they are coming at noon, late afternoon and into the late nights, at least I'm hoping that is indicating the END of the cycle. I didn't keep any journal on ch when they started in 86/87 and went for a long time between 2002 and this year so I really don't have a written history to establish frequency and time of day/night etc..... |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by Charlotte on Jul 18th, 2006, 8:23pm chronic. I'm doing very well on kudzu & a red bull or 2 a day and an occasional 1/4 tab of maxalt mlt. I would so like not to be chronic. What is the criteria. I'm all the way down to shadows. If I keep this up for a month, do I graduate out of chronic? Charlotte |

Title: Re: Are you in cycle right now? Post by Summerbabe on Jul 18th, 2006, 10:31pm :D Hey there, just like frizzle , 6th week for me as well. I am episodic, had remission period for a year and a hlf then BAM!!! :o :'(. Heavy heat seems to bring on the shadows, I do my best to stay cool. I am still getting hit 2 times a night but better than what it was 3-4 a night :'(. I have ice packs handy , a/c blasting..red bull handy with the o2 of course,.so I am trying here, at witts end to be honest, but grateful hits are somewhat tapering. Thanks for the concern and glad you are doing ok, All my best, Summer 8) |
