Title: when u get hit Post by chopmyheadoff on Jul 12th, 2006, 2:36pm iv just been reading through the other posts again and iv just realised how glad i am that there are others the same as me. Not at all that im glad someone else is suffering, but before i was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and found this site i thought i was going mad or going to die. im a big bloke at 6'2 and im always at the gym and i cant tell you how much it hurt me and made me feel like a freak when i would be "dancing" round my bedroom on my hands and knees screaming and drippling and squeezing my head night after night. i would occasionally have a few days off but not many. i thought "you dont see anyone else doing this" - i thought i was being a girl thingy and was ashamed. I felt like less of a man in front of my girlfriend and i felt guilty that she was "stuck" with me doing this. i now have 2 saviours. 1. imigran - what a wonderful drug - i cried for 3 hours solid when i went to hospital having a 10+ and they gave me a shot of this stuff AND IT WORKED. I have suffered for 7 years with no need if id been diagnosed propperly. 2. THIS SITE - it is wonderful to share this nightmare with you wonderful people and my heart goes out to each and every one of you. peace Andrew |

Title: Re: when u get hit Post by JeffB on Jul 12th, 2006, 4:59pm These are the best people on the the planet. I went years feeling the way you did. I was embarrased at first in front of my gf, but she was a rock for me. I would be balled up on the floor in my living room crying or dancin like a fool that was walking on a hot plate. Kinda funny now, knowing you're not alone with this dreaded disease, that there are so many others who suffer. Sorry you had to find a place like this, but glad you did. Jeff |

Title: Re: when u get hit Post by georgej on Jul 12th, 2006, 5:22pm No need to feel "girly" about taking hits and getting through them any way you can. You're dealing with something that's off the scale compared to what most human beings experience. Next time you're in the gym, look around at all the meatwads whacking the metal around--those who talk about "working through the pain" or "no pain, no gain" or some such and think to yourself: Could they take a hit? Ha. It is to laugh. They'd whimper like whipped poodle puppies. Regards, George |

Title: Re: when u get hit Post by Charlotte on Jul 12th, 2006, 6:39pm ...and what is wrong with being girly? I know according to myth, girls don't get this, but it is possible that we're tougher than you guys because we still have to do the laundry, deliver the kids to their practices, and get to work. Just kidding about being tough. No one is tough with these. Besides, I like girly boys. Charlotte |

Title: Re: when u get hit Post by chopmyheadoff on Jul 13th, 2006, 2:23am sorry - i missed a very important 3rd saviour from my list that is DR.SILVER !! he is the neurologist who saw me, diagnosed me in 5 minutes (after 7 years of misdiagnosis) and promptly introduced me to imigran which he TOLD my GP to prescribe in abundance. I now have 12 jabs at home , waiting for my next cycle to start - and a repeat prescription for 12 refils that i can use whenever i like. MY HERO :P 8) ;;D ;) |

Title: Re: when u get hit Post by BarbaraD on Jul 13th, 2006, 7:27am One word of advice. GET THE REFILL filled every time you can for the NEXT hit. If you're on insurance, it probably won't cover many, so most people stock up when out of cycle. Glad you found some relief. Hugs BD |
