Post by chopmyheadoff on Jul 10th, 2006, 8:57am

Nope, I get them too.

They seem to be most pronounced when the HA is a big one, and/or when it lasts a long time.

Best,

George

add me into that  :-/
I think you'll find its most of us with one hit or another.
I've never seen anyone get hit and be able to snap straight back to it, it just doesn't happen hon.

Not EVERYTHING.. without CH I wouldn't have made some of the best friends I'll ever have.
CH might be a bloody great cloud but CH friends are a solid silver lining.. you wait and see!

I found I had the hangover years ago before Imigran. My CH would go away and often leave me with a sore temple and feeling groggy, especially after a big hit.

Since Imigran I am usually much less groggy after a CH than I recall without it, and I seldom have the sore temple area.

I can live with the groggy hangover, but not the pain.

yes, I get them.  Not with every hit, thank God.

Yep, feels like someone has been hitting me with a 2X4 on the side of the head-I call it a "three stooges" day.  My face will be sore to the touch-really groggy and kinda grouchy.

If Im not on any medication and get a big hit, when its over I have a feeling of euphoria. It will last for several hours and had helped me make it through the day on many occasions. I have seen a few people post the same but not many.

Me too - even when I can manage to kill it without the imitrex.

It's the tired, wiped out, and worn out feeling of a hangover without the nausea.

Hi Chop - and welcome!

Yes, when I have one of the BIG hits, I always feel totally wasted after the pain leaves me.  I am completely and utterly exhausted, feel like I've downed a full gallon of booze (and when in cycle, not one drop of alcohol touches my lips - instant trigger), and I am absolutely freezing cold.  I will go sit down in a recliner and wrap myself up in a heavy blanket and shake for about 30 to 45 minutes.  Then, I'm fine.  Weird  :-/

Wow Sandy, I get the same freeze afterwards! If I stop it fast enough with the trex,I don't get the shakes or the hangover. If it goes over half an hour or much over a 7 I get the "you've just had your but whooped" hangover.

I don't exactly get a "freeze", but I do wrap up in a blanket afterwards.  I sweat during the headache, but stop sweating afterward and feel chilled.

Interesting.

Best,

George

Hi,

Different aftermath with different level hits for me.  I do sweat during a hit(and crave cold air).

After a big hit I am totally exhausted but not cold. Nothing but a smoke and multiple sighs will do. But definitely a feeling of euphoria.

After a midlevel hit I am famished and raid the fridge with the munchies like  the old days of bong.

After a minor hit, I shake it off and can proceed almost normally.

Regards

Jon

I've always been exhausted after a big hit. sometimes it takes all day to get over it.

When we were in Rochester (back in 99), Drummer was gone for a while and then came back to the garage. I looked at his eyes and said, "You just got hit didn't you?"  His eyes were glassy and he had a "pooped" look on his face. Over the years I've seen that look on a lot of you.

I think that may be a reason we get depressed. When you're getting hit several times a day, you just don't have time to recover from the exhaustion.

Hugs BD
