Title: Well then, I just can't wait to be king
Post by Dave on May 25th, 2006, 9:13pm
I read a long time ago articles that stated that cluster headache sufferers tend to have a "leonine" appearance.  In fact, I still see articles about CH's that say this.

Any of you folks have a leonine appearance (whatever the hell that means)?
Any lions out there?  Roar.

Anyway, years and years ago my doctor told be this was an absurd load of crap.  I wonder why this BS continues to persist.  I thought that stereotypes that have no basis in reality were out of vogue these days.

And we have orange peel skin, a ruddy complexion, taller then average, male, (sorry girls you're all faking it!!!!!!)................this all from the 80's when they first diagnosed me. Old myths die hard.

(And no, I don't think I look like a lion)

When I was first diagnosed the neurologist said "This is a classic presentation of clusterheadaches aside from the fact that you are not male, middle-aged, with orange peel skin or  leonine features." That was 20 some odd years ago.  I'm still not and organge-peel skinned, lion-faced middle aged man.  And my husband is very happy about that. ;;D

Michael the King is Jonny.. you'll see!  ;)

Benjamin, I can so understand how you feel but it's time to make like the French and guillotine the aristocracy hon. The only king in your head should be you, I understand where you're coming from but we need to get you some fighting spirit  :)
What meds are you using? Lets see if we can't come up with some suggestions to give you some better quality of life

Michael  it sounds like you'll be in trouble with no one to look after you! LOL I'm glad you recognise who is boss in your house. It's so refreshing to meet a man who knows his place  ;)

Lelimey, my wife laid it out for me 26 years ago, in writing cuz I'm kinda slow. My place:

1: Reproduction
2: Car repair
3: Lawn maintenance

If I haven't screwed up lately I get to hold the TV remote. (I really like that)

I'm not sure if I'm leonine, but I actually do fit all the rest...orange peel skin, ruddy complextion, tall, male, and don't forget the hazel eyes. Surprisingly, all of this info helped in my diagnosis back in the stone age before computers (80's).

PS. It's all kind of subtle...I don't look like a tall, skinny orange with a tomato for a head, and olives for eyes! :)

Well, I really wanted to meet someone with orange peel skin, but I don't think a tall skinny orange with a tomato head and olive eyes is orange peel skin, so I'm still waiting.

What I want to know is how many people are color blind.  At the Sacramento meet n greet, there were 7 clusterheads and 4 of us were partially color blind.  Also, about split down the middle for episodic or not.

No orange peel skin yet, though, although Nani once said she had some on her posterior.

She told me that was hail damage.

Hey Charlotte...really, orange peel skin. Not dimpled, like a hail damaged butt, but kind of groovy like a ruffles potato chip. I swear!
