Title: Life goes on
Post by sailpappy on May 21st, 2006, 4:27am
Here I sit after the 4th cluster tonight, as usual I have given up on sleep and come to check and see who else is still with me?
I made a trip to Florida to pick up my Daughter and the newest Grandson, only to have fate step in and ruin it all again.  After a grueling 12 hour drive with my trusty Ice Bag and 6 visits from Mr. Cluster we were preparing to order some diner and out of no where my daughter had a GrandMall seizure, fell dropping Baby John and stopped breathing for 5 minutes.
I would live in constant pain if only she didn't have to go through this now in her life.
John Michael is fine, but I will never get ovr thinking she had passed away on that floor.
After so much Drama with the clusters in our lives, a reality check snaps you right out of self pity mode when its presented like this was!
She's OK now, a one time event so far, I just started breathing normally again myself.  OMG---back to the shower for #5

Pappy, firstly what a precious and beautiful grandson you have and I am so glad that he is fine after the fall.

My sister also has GrandMall epilepsy and it is very scary because after years and years she now usually end up in a coma for 2 - 3 days at a time after a seizure.  What I know is that my CH cannot compare to a life like that and that I am the lucky one.  If I could I would also rather have constant pain than have her go through this condition.  Any excitement or stress out of the norm results in a seizure for her.

I'm sorry your daughter had to go through this and you as a parent.

Hang in there and keep on rowing, life is not always what we want but our kids stay a blessing and our condition keeps us humble.

Hope you get a break soon. [smiley=hug.gif]
