Title: Try sports drink with electrolytes for headaches
Post by St_Joseph on May 20th, 2006, 5:22pm
Hi;

I am new to this forum. I have been reading it for the last 6 months trying to find a cure for my cluster headaches. I have tried amytriptyline and topamax. I have had a CT scan too. I tried the water times 3 too. I hope I am not breaking any forum rules by mentioning a product by name because I just want to help people. I don't work for the company in any way. As a matter of fact I dont work, I think my boss used the last layoffs to get rid of me because he thought I would go on medical leave due to the headaches. I got a bad stomache virus 3 days ago and I was so afraid of what was going to happen when I couldnt keep all the pills down. I only could keep Gatorade down the first night and the cluster headache was less intense and I thought that was odd so I kept drinking the Gatorade. So the next night they got less intense again and I was able to drop the ibuprofen dosage down alittle. Ibuprofen is the only drug that makes me feel better and my neurologist wants me off of it. So I honestly think the Gatorade is helping me and if someone can't have alot of sodium in their diet go in the baby food section of the grocery store and get Pedialyte its the same stuff without the sodium. Like I said it takes 2 to 3 days to see a difference but I see one and I hope you do too. I hope I don't give someone false hopes but I also don't want to sit on a cure if I found one.
Take care and let me know if this helps anyone else!!!

God Bless

Haven't heard that one before.  This one certainly can't hurt to try!

Seems odd since Gatorade is not much more than water, sugar, and salt.

By the way, I'm pretty sure Pedialyte has sodium.
