Title: Is it just me or... Post by Tom K on May 17th, 2006, 12:07pm has anyone else noticed that about 30 minutes before getting hit, that they get really manic? Elevated mood, hyper, etc? Noticed it this cycle and am too lazy to search to see if anyone else has ever posted about it. |

Title: Re: Is it just me or... Post by Guiseppi on May 17th, 2006, 1:22pm Mine come out of the blue. I've not noticed an upper or a lower level in my mood or energy level. About 5 minutes before the pain begins, I get an "uncomfortable" feeling in my stomach and then an "oh sh@#" feeling just before it starts. Wishing you a short cycle. Guiseppi |

Title: Re: Is it just me or... Post by unsolved1 on May 17th, 2006, 5:10pm No. Most of the time I get hit out of the blue. Just when everything was seemimgly normal. Many times awaken out of sleep. Not manic or hyper then either. Sometimes I do run around screaming "Oh SHIT ... Oh SHIT ... Oh SHIT !" and/or "EYE MA TREX ... EYE MA TREX ... EYE MA TREX !". Is that being manic ? lol UNsolved |

Title: Re: Is it just me or... Post by BlueMeanie on May 17th, 2006, 7:45pm I usually get about a 10 minute warning. It's like Charlette said.... Oh SHIT, here it comes. At that point the panic begins and prep for the needle, ice packs, O2 mask, muscle massage vibrator, Kleenex and empty room to hide begins. During the waiting period, I'm a nervous wreck and mood changes for the worst. So I guess you can say YES I really get MANIC. :-[ |

Title: Re: Is it just me or... Post by thebbz on May 17th, 2006, 10:06pm [smiley=slowlaugh.gif] Is manic a form of depression? [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=laugh.gif] Before, during, or after the episode [smiley=laugh.gif] NOT just you my friend. ;) CH, depression peas, carrots Really, I can feel changes in my mood as well as anxiety before an attack. Before an episode I have sleep problems and depressed mood. During ...I try to be civil. After the episode it's mental and physical healing time to get ready for the return of the beast. all the best jb |

Title: Re: Is it just me or... Post by BarbaraD on May 18th, 2006, 5:11am My assistant noticed (years ago) that my eye starts swelling shut (I don't notice it), but have always gotten hit out of the blue. Usually wake up with a 4-6 and have to abort that one. Then during the day - it just comes out of the blue at different times. No pattern that I can tell.... Hugs BD |
