Title: Hooray for my second post
Post by SammyG on Apr 19th, 2006, 6:34pm
Thank you, guys, for answering my questions so quickly and with so much thought!

Is it possible that stupid people can't get cluster headaches?  If this message board is an indicator of the average IQ of a clusterhead, we're more like mensa than a support group.

So I'm not going to worry about possibly being chronic, especially becuase my headaches started at the exact same time as spring started in my home state of Minnesota, and I certainly have read that cycles are likely to (or at least can) correspond to a season like spring or fall.  Still, the thought of another month of this is unappealing to say the least.

Let me add that I cannot miss days where I work (at a coffee shop) and that I can be fired if I miss a SINGLE shift and I am not "sick." My first two weeks of headaches, I worked over 60 hours and I don't think I could physically handle that again.  At the same time, I cannot quit my job because I am moving in July and the less money I have, the less smoothly my move will go.  And I also rarely can take a break at my job -- I usually have 5 minutes where I'm not helping customers in 2 hours of being at work.  This is partly because I work during busy hours.  I am on good terms with my boss but she's getting tired of me being angry and depressed and she clearly has no idea what I'm suffering from.

I just wanted to thank you all for being here for me and anyone else who is unlucky enough to have to come here.  I'll get by with a little help from my friends.

-Sam

Wait a minute Linda ... that's a legitmate question...

Think about it... it's (almost) been proven that we have MORE gray matter than the average bear so that means that we're supposed to be SMARTER than the average -- RIGHT [smiley=huh.gif]  So going by that hypothesis (or whatever in the hell that word is) it would stand to reason that stupid people don't get CH.

So now I'm gonna take this very smart person (who's had her nighty night pills) to bed and think this over for about five minutes and solve the rest of the problems of the universe.

Hugs BD :-*

You might want to hang around a while before making that assessment.  Actually I'm excited, If true, mine should be falling off any time now.   ;;D

"Is it possible that stupid people can't get cluster headaches?"

No. I've been known to have a few CH's.

Being busy Sammy is one of the better treatments for CH.
Anger and depression will often make things worse, try to look at it more like winning a battle where others will seldom even enter the ring.
You win every time and thats cause for elation and compassion.

Comparing Apples and Oranges but...
I read that with Migraine sufferers there is a noticable drop in Seretonin levels during headaches.  I am currently taking SSRI's  and this being the usual time I go through my cycle, the frequency and intensity of my CH's is lower that it has been in the past.  Has anyone else noticed this while taking anti-depressants or am I just getting lucky?
As for stupid people not getting CH.  Maybe Ignorance IS Bliss!

Well, that answers the question. Mine went away in 1991 when I turned 45 and my mind began to disassemble into tapioca.  http://www.ibrportal.net/board/style_emoticons/newyear/jester.gif?SSImageQuality=Full

It would be nice if your boss could see some selected posts, perhaps.

Just an idea.
