Title: S.O.S. - UPDATED !! Post by unsolved1 on Mar 26th, 2006, 8:34am "The seering pain still catches me off guard" ... You'd think after years of this, I'd be 'used to it' by now ... but the fact is, I can't stand the intense pain anymore. I can't stand it physically or mentally. I've called my neuro's emergency # and I'm going back into the hospital again. I'll probably be in for days if not weeks. The madness has to stop! Wish me luck. UNsolved |

Title: Re: S.O.S. Post by rapunzel on Mar 26th, 2006, 11:36am the pain is what prompted me to ask how y'all handle the mental part (other thread). You don't "get used to" the pain. Each and every time is pure hell- but thankfully, here at this site, we have people who truly know what pain it is that we are referring to. No more of that desperate alone feeling- or only having someone say"I know how you feel, I hate getting a headache". We all know that searing pain and the suffering that we go thru each time. It doesnt get any easier-how nice if it would just go numb, or be anywhere besides in our head/eye. It IS hell. You have my sympathies, and understanding. Good luck, I hope that you find some relief and that the drs can help. Kim |

Title: Re: S.O.S. Post by unsolved1 on Mar 31st, 2006, 9:44pm A quick update. I'm in Floyd Memorial Hospital. Been here for most of March. I've done everything ... Steriods, DHE, Pain meds, O2, Imitrex, etc. I've only had 1 major attack, and it was a WAMMY !! There were 2 nurses and 3 student nurses from Ivy Tech State College in Sllersburg, IN. They all witnessed a true KIP 10 ! I was SCREAMIN', Yellin', Cussin' praying for death, bangin my head on the bathroom sink. They gave me 125mg of Demerol IV and it did nothing! They finally gave me 3 mg of Imitrex which helped in 15 - 20 minutes. I think I freaked them all out. After it was over, I had a printout from OUCH .. THe "letter to collegues & friends" and THe "Kip Scale" and I gave it to them. I edumacated a whole class of nurses! ;;D I gotta go. Be here til the 4th then going to visit Dr. Diamond on the 5th. I snuck onto a comp at the nurses station so I can't write back now. Thanks for the Letters Jill and Sean, I'll get with you as soon as I can! Miss all of you ... Don't forget me! Mike AKA UNsolved |

Title: Re: S.O.S. - UPDATED !! Post by MJ on Apr 1st, 2006, 2:01am Be well Mike and best of luck. I think we all get caught off gaurd no matter how many hits and how many years. The mental part is the tough part. 125mg demerol for hard CH is kinda like giving a horse an aspirin. MJ |

Title: Re: S.O.S. - UPDATED !! Post by Sandy_C on Apr 2nd, 2006, 2:48pm Hang on, Mike. Hoping things get better for you. But, if there's a silver lining around your cloud, you did edumucated a bunch of nurses! This can only help others, because now, maybe, just maybe, one of those pretty little girls will remember what she saw and know how to help. Wishing you PF Sandy |

Title: Re: S.O.S. - UPDATED !! Post by unsolved1 on Apr 11th, 2006, 4:32pm After 26 days in 2 different hospitals, I'm no better. I've had 3 major attacks so far today. They're sayin' i'm in "Triptan rebound" mode ... but what am I to do ... it's truley the only thing that helps. I can't stop using it, not even with massive pain meds. I'm closing in on the end of my rope. And if that's not enough stress, my pyschotic sister is pissed off at me and came over to my house while I was in the hospital and trashed my computer. I'm going to try and salvage the hard drive and memory sticks, the rest is garbage. Needless to say, I won't be checking in as much for awhile. Thanks for the well wishes. I'll miss reading all the posts. I'll check in when I can. PF wishes everyone UNsolved |
