Title: PFO? Post by dannyboy on Feb 2nd, 2006, 4:40am Reason I ask is that blood goes through the hole and bypasses the lungs. So the blood doesn't get oxygenated. And Oxygen seems to help in some... This hole in the heart stuff... any reported connection to CH so far? PFO is not a broken heart teacher lady Aaaai DB |

Title: Re: PFO? Post by BobG on Feb 2nd, 2006, 6:42pm My mother was born with a small hole in her heart. Do you think she is the cause of my headaches? The hole was repaired, 2 years ago when she was 79 years old, but I still get headaches whenever she's near. Hello dannyboy. Long time no see. |

Title: Re: PFO? Post by dannyboy on Feb 7th, 2006, 10:38am "As reported in the medical journal Neurology, Dr. Cinzia Finocchi and colleagues, from the University of Genoa in Italy, used ultrasound to look for PFO in 40 people with cluster headache and 40 similar subjects without such headaches. " "There was evidence of PFO in 17 patients with cluster headache compared with just 7 headache-free subjects. Having a cluster headache more than tripled the odds of having a PFO".... and there I thought 7 times three was 21?! Any way, just one study but it's a start Gawd damn interesting Unsolved, shot ma bru! |
