Title: Finally... my "A-Ha"! Post by MJ-bos on Oct 2nd, 2007, 8:08pm Reading so many of the stories here, I don't have a whole lot to add - other that a whole lot of head-bobbing and "yeah, me too!" I'm just turning 40 now and have finally figured out that I'm a clusterhead... after nearly 25 years of being treated for sinus infections, allergies, and migraines. I figure I've ingested about 40 pounds of Excedrin over these years - in addition to all the Sudafed, Guai, methocarbomal, Tylenol 3 ... oxycodone... I was finally seen by a reallly sharp neurologist who looked at the cycles, history, and pain levels said that it sounded like a text-book case of CH. He pointed me to this site, and I was floored - A-HA... THAT'S IT! Thanks to everyone for being so open and sharing. I'm just now tapering down from an initial "blast" of prednisone, and am taking Verapamil with Imitrex as my abortive. Hopefully I'll be learning a lot more as I read here - at this juncture, it's just AMAZINGLY comforting to know that I'm not just "super-sensitive" to a bad headache - and that I don't have to "just live with it"! Peace, MJ |
