Title: Re: Histamine Treatment Post by Ray on May 16th, 2007, 11:15am Hello: I've had them twice, series of IV treatments with Dr. Diamond in Chicago. For some CH patients, it can break up the cluster and give a PF period of months or years. For me, it was ineffective, but I saw others who were PF. My best to you, Ray |

Title: Re: Histamine Treatment Post by Ray on May 17th, 2007, 2:40pm Hello Dave: I was there in 88-89. I don't remember a Dr. Urban. I saw Dr Seymour Diamond. All in all, it was a rather unpleasant experience for me, but it did work for others, like yourself. With regards, Ray |

Title: Re: Histamine Treatment Post by Ray on May 17th, 2007, 8:58pm Hello Everyone: I wouldn't go so far as to say that I didn't like my treatment.... The Diamond Clinic did a thorough job, just the results were not wonderful for me. I am not going to say that anyone should stay away from there! If you would like to know what negatives I would list, it's a short list. It's kind of the "big mac and fries" of the headache treatment world. By that I mean: you need to have your questions organized and written down, otherwise the Dr comes in with a whirlwind of assistants and then leaves. It may be months before you get to go there again. [In general, not related to the Diamond Clinic in particular] You need to be an informed consumer with all medical doctors, be prepared to ask for what you want/need and keep up with the research and treatments available. If the Dr proposes something you don't want, or feel would be helpful, don't buy into it for fear of offending the Dr. Be aware that all medications have side effects, ask what to watch out for! Wishing you all many PF days and nights, Ray |
