Title: I am here again Post by Julygirl0721 on Mar 6th, 2007, 12:06am Hello everyone This is my 2nd time here on the board I first found the site this time last year about 2 weeks into a cycle I have been having episodic CH'S for the last 10 yrs about 18 months-24 months between my cycles and they last 2-8 weeks depends on meds and such. I have used imitrex and o2 as my treatment in the past. The reason I find myself here tonight is last night at about 130am I had a bad ch came on all of the sudden now it has been only 1 year from my last cycle I am not sure I think I am in another cycle? I took my trex last night and I have been pain free as of 2am I am scared to sleep tonight can anyone tell me do cycles come as often as every year? what can I do if I am starting a cycle? I am just getting out of a bad flu could that have an effect? also I live in florida can that mean anything? still learning how to deal with this. Thanks Crystal I will let you know what happens pray for me please! |

Title: Re: I am here again Post by Skyhawk5 on Mar 6th, 2007, 12:34am Welcome back Crystal, sorry you had to come back though. I've had out of cycle hits a few times. I hope that is what you had. Do you have Oxygen now? My cycle just started 4 months early, and caught me off guard. I get scared too but concentrate on not letting the beast have total control. My prayers to you, Skyhawk (Don) |

Title: Re: I am here again Post by BB on Mar 6th, 2007, 7:28am Hello Crystal CH is a neurovascular event involving many chemicals in the brain and has many triggers so it can change characteristics any time. As soon as you think you have it figured out it changes again. So instead of worrying about whether you are starting another cycle, and yes you can have cycles starting earlier and only a couple of months apart, its better to get yourself ready. Loads up on meds, remember what worked well last time to try again if the hits keep comming, but bear in mind sometimes the same meds dont work. Prepare yourself by reducing stress, make sure you eat well, sleep well and have a regular schedule to follow, especially for sleep. That way you are ready for anything. If another cycle has started then start the meds and go into battle, if not its good for your body anyway. Just getting out of the flu may have thrown your body into turmoil. Many cycles have started with a flu or a sinus infection. Make sure you take care of the general health so that you will recover faster from the virus. Dont think where you live has anything to do with it though. Take care and let us know how you go and what meds have you tried ? Painfree wishes to you, praying that its not a new cycle for you. Title: Re: I am here again Post by Julygirl0721 on Mar 6th, 2007, 4:47pm well I slept all night PF so maybe I was having a out of cycle hit. I am going to try and recover from this flu and just see what happens. Also I do not have o2 how can I get that without Dr. I lost my ins last year and have been paying out of pocket (very costly) is there a way I can get o2 and mask without Dr? Trex is the one thing that still works for me it cost alot but worth when I can afford it. I even though about buying from Canada is that safe? I tried topamax no help I was reading that there are other drugs to help DHE may try that if it is less than Trex. PS I am going to Richmond this year ;;D Crystal |

Title: Re: I am here again Post by barry_sword on Mar 6th, 2007, 8:41pm Hi Crystal. Re: flu and Hits. I remember last cycle catching the flu bug and that angered the Beast big time. I got hits during the day, totally out of character for me. Mine hit at night always, never during the daytime. Nice to meet you. Barry :) |
