Mike, I am not aware of anyone with CH that finds relief smoking pot. In fact, many report it as a trigger. Have you taken the quiz on the right panel? |

Title: Re: Hi im new Post by Margi on Oct 27th, 2006, 5:34pm Hi Mike, Nope, won't judge you by your habits, not to worry. But...smoking pot IS a trigger for most cluster sufferers, yet it can actually relieve migraine. Like Rich says, take the quiz and tell us what your symptoms are. How long do your headaches last, where is the pain, what do you do when you have a headache - lie down in the dark or can't sit still? Keep talking - maybe we can point you in the right direction to find some pain relief. p.s. you're blessed to live in Penticton! I'm just on the other side of the Rockies from you! :) go FLAMES go!! :P |

Title: Re: Hi im new Post by burnt-toast on Oct 29th, 2006, 6:49am I also find myself sniffing heavily when the host smokes a pot at parties. I find the best solution is turning off the burner and using the exhaust fan in the range hood. If there's too much smoke accumulated opening a window to let in some fresh oxygen also helps. As an added note, Its a good idea to let the pot cool before using it to smack yourself upside the head if that's your chosen method for dealing with CH attacks. ;;D All kidding aside - Not judging you on bad habits but you should consider that they may be contributing to your headaches. There's only one way to find out for sure. Best wishes, Tom |

Title: Re: Hi im new Post by chopmyheadoff on Nov 2nd, 2006, 10:16am pot isnt a trigger as such (trust me - im an expert on this) but its more of an accelerator. ie , if you were gonna get hit that night, the hit would come sooner. but if you had a joint no where near your regular hit time it wouldnt trigger an attack. am i making sense ?? :-/ quote from BB => Pot is bad for you, can make you go all potty .. Title: Re: Hi im new Post by Sandy_C on Nov 2nd, 2006, 7:15pm Absolutely no judgements here, Mike. I assume, from your post, that you have not had an official diagnosis of CH. Please check out all of the buttons to your left, especially the cluster quiz. Answer honestly, and then let us know what the results are. I highly recommend you consult a neuro who is well versed in headaches, especially clusterheadaches. It's important to have a correct diagnosis, because some meds that may be prescribed will work on other problems, but not on CH, and some meds can be downright dangerous. Someone is always here. Please tell us a little more about you, your headache symptoms, how often, how long, etc. We may be able to point you in the right direction. Sandy |
