Title: Here again!
Post by athome on Sep 21st, 2006, 5:08pm
Well, its been over a year and THERE BACK!!  I have no o2 and no dr to prescribe.  Gerneral MD will not do it and previous neuro is no longer seeing patients - the new dr will see me in 4 weeks.  Then I will have to explain what I have been dealing with for 16 years and he will look at me like HUH? and then I will beg for o2.  Why can't this be easier...  :(

I've never used O2, but...at times when I've gotten hit with an attack while driving I'll blast the fans on me and try to breath deeply and regularly.

Very moderate success, but at least I was trying to think of something else...

I'd try harder on the GP.  My GP was willing to fight for me to get more zomig than I'd want to take in a month.

:)

Send your old neuro a release of medical information for yourself. Request a copy of his records with the diagnosis. The GP may not listen to you but its hard to argue with the proper diagnosis by the proper professional. Did he or she die? No longer seeing patients? What about records? Those records are not theirs they are yours.
I hate going in and sounding like a broken record. Anymore I go in and throw my records on the table, from there its teamwork or they are fired.
all the best

Good luck.  It helps to go in prepared, like Thebbz said.

It takes awhile to get the records, so start now.  Call the old office.  If the neuro moved offices, they will have to contact him or her to get permission to release your records to you, and there will probably be a small fee & some more rigamarole, faxing, & mailing.

Also, see an eye dr if you can & go through the eye dilation and have them give you a report to take with you, including nystagmus & color blind & whatever.

And take in literature on any meds you take or want to take.

Once, again, I wish you luck.  Let us know the date & we will pray & vibe for ya.

Charlotte

I decided that it is time to change GP - he is of no help at all.  When I called asking for the o2 he said "Sorry but o2 is considered treatment and I am not the treating dr you need a Neuro" >:(      Neuro is now only seeing MS patients - I will request my info from him and see what the new neuro says?  The old Neuro did not seem all that familiar with CH and I went in with all my backup info but he did his own thing (test MRI..., then gave me migraine meds, then I said o2 please and he gave me the Rx)
The cold AC thing I've tried before (this week as a matter of fact) but it does not do it for me.
Thanks for your input - PFDAN to all...

And there's always welding O2 if all else fails.  Jonny can tell ya how to adapt the regulator, ect.  I had more trouble getting O2 than anything else-so odd that docs were willing to throw all manner of toxic meds at me, and narcotics, but when I asked for O2 they were "suspicious".  What's up with that? It's a good question.  We hear it over and over on the board.  I wonder whether we'd like the answer very much.

I wonder also what the big deal is with the o2 - and like someone said maybe we are better off not knowing?

Chewy:  Thanks so much for the list - are those all GP and especially Wheeler someone had mentioned him to me but was not sure what type of MD he was and could not find him on my insurance?
