Here is what I would do.
Keep in mind the fact that our bodies are different and that I am not a doctor.
I have taken them both at the same time.
The regular release will help get you to sleep and might help prevent attacks. The time release should help you attain sleep that is close to "normal"
Good luck.

Hi Nools,

My wife and I have been taking Melatonin for years.

I feel absolutely no ill effects or drowsiness in the morning from it.

I have noticed though that for me and my wife there is a limited window of opportunity to fall asleep although I will admit I haven't taken more than 6mg at the most at any one time.  But make sure you do not take it too early or you may miss the window for it to help you fall asleep.  For me, if I wait too long after I take it to lie down, it seems to wear off.  That may also be why I don't feel any sleepiness from it in the morning...wears off quick.

Good luck
Tony

Sure.

1. Put the melatonin in your mouth.

2. Drink some water.

3. Swallow the melatonin.

Sorry. I couldn't resist.

Getting to sleep aint the problem.Staying asleeps the bit i have trouble with. Its got to the point now where theres no point in even trying.

Of course I do! That's what I love about this place.

I don't have any experience with melatonin, so all I can offer you is this: 2 Benadryl (50 mg) at bedtime. This is all I've ever needed. I'll bet the melatonin is safer, however.

I alway's take it right before bed.  On the downside, it only got me from 1-3 hours of sleep, to the 3-5 hr. range.  Of course I only started using it toward the end of my last cycle so, I have not had a lot of experience with it.   I may try the time release this year to see if I can improve on that.
