Title: Hello Again! Update on Fig......... Post by Fig on Sep 15th, 2006, 11:49pm I'm Marion, from Upstate New York. I've just turned 60--a long time to suffer, don't you think? I've been reviewing things, looking for clues, answers.... One thing I remember is that ever since I was a young child I would periodicly feel a lightning bolt blast jolt thru my skull (always on the left side). It would burn and throb, leave me shaken for a minute or so. Sometimes I'd see black. Often I'd be left with a dul headache. These "blasts"/"jolts" would come out of nowhere, any time. They continue to this day. Also now, for years I get severe headaches day after day where I can do nothing and feel stupid and depressed. A doctor did once tell me I have clusters, but they don't seem to fit the typical pattern. All I know is this--they're hell, they're scary, they mess up my life and nothing seems to help other than waiting them out. Any thoughts? Thanks. You guys are great. Hugs, Marion |

Title: Re: Hello Again! Update on Fig......... Post by BB on Sep 16th, 2006, 5:15pm Hello Your symptoms are definitely not classical CH. So you have had them for nearly 60 years without the need to medicate? How often do you get these jolts and headaches for in a day? And how many days in a month? and how many months in a year? Have you seen any neurologist? Your symptoms could be some form of epilepsy. Please see a neurologist for review and actual diagnosis. Good luck with everything and painfree wishes to you. Annette |

Title: Re: Hello Again! Update on Fig......... Post by Fig on Sep 16th, 2006, 8:07pm Thanks, guys. I do have tension headaches and migraines---I have some form of hea.dache almost every day. I take pain meds (Darvocet or Ibuprofen). I do have a neurologist, whom I see for another problem--I have NF (Neurofibromatosis). On my last MRI they found a small tumor just outside my brain, behind my right eye (the side where my headaches are). We're leaving it alone for now. I've had EEG's done--no sign of epilepsy. Any way you slice it, this whole deal is a bummer, no? I think you all are the bravest bunch of people I've ever met. Marion |
