Title: Pain free, with other ch symptoms!!
Post by skorpio1104 on Aug 9th, 2006, 6:20am
Hello All in Clusterville!

Some of you know that after 19 wonderfully ch free years, I had my worst 7 weeks cycle. After the trip to the ER two weeks ago I only had one more Kip 10...then it started subsiding in level, lenght and quantity...Past 5 days had only 2 very mild shadowy days...No meds whatsoever for 5 dys, only multi vitamin and Magnesiums, with lots of coffee. The past 3 nights  though something wild, crazy and very annoying is happening to me; I am waking up at pretty much the same times as used to with ch, but now because I am absolutely soaked in cold sweet!!! That is from the tip of my head to the tip of my toes!!! I am absolutely freezing, and nighties are dripping from the water...my pillow, and the sheets also. I AM SOOO SLEEPY, but have to get up to dry up, no strength for shower, and to change the bed...or my place of sleep...after a while I can fall asleep again, only to wake up soaked again!!! After the third time waking up so wet, I didn't go back; I am here to let you all know, and see if anyone else has suffered in this. The reason I know it has to do with CH is because the half of my head is little numb, ear plugged, nostroll is very sensitive, and little drippy...but mostly no pain. (Right now the smallest shadow only)
The temperature in my house is not hot, nor cold; I am just comfortable, and always covered up, upto my head. I know the sweating isn't because I'm hot...that's different...and I would just kick the cover off a bit...So then what is it??? Anyone have any clue??  Please let me know!!

By the way; Are there any Doctors in here??? Neuros may be???

Skorp

No doctors, just us expert patients!  ;;D
The fact you have autonomic symptoms makes me think these are what we call "silent hits" all the symptoms but no pain.
Its not uncommon, I've had them myself and what is even weirder is I've had some where I've woken up panicking for the o2 convinced Im getting hit only to realise I'm not actually in pain. I know at least one other ch'er this has happend to as well.
My son also has "silent hits" at the same time every day.
I'd mention it to your doctor but I wouldn't worry about it honestly!
Helen
PS I'm so pleased with your news, I hope you stay pain free for ever  :)

Thanks Helen,

I knew I can count on you. You are our Dr. Helen. Good to know I'm not alone, my husband looks at me like I'm crazy sometimes.

I didn't know about "silent hits", and I'm not as worried, except that I can't really remember when did I get a real good night sleep. Looking like a zombie doesn't really help on job interviews...thank God for make ups and stuff! Haha!

Pain free days to everyone!!

Unless your auditioning for the Oz Fest.

Try Melatonin. Stuff is great in or out of cycle.

Dont try THAT!

Try the melatonin.  8)

I've always been a hard liner regarding treatment of CH and debunking all the rediculous alternative treatments but I have to give a thumbs up to the melatonin.

Hello,

How is everyone doing?

I had a good night, and an even better one. Without Melatonin...I know, I'm bad...hate to take pills, but also feel that I still have to figure triggers. Seems I'm in remission anyway, need to know how long.
There are a few other symptoms, like "plugged" ear, and the roof of my mouth seems a little numb. Scalp where I most felt the pain, have been itchy; actually on the edge of itchyness and pain. Anyone else has that?

Other than, sweating is better, a lot.  ;;D

Hope you all are doing great!

Hey Skorp,
i am also coming off a 19 year remission. It bites, doesn't it.  I am also having shadows and pain free hits that I don't remember from the old days. Maybe I just don't remember them. I was a big kip 10'er back then, and I sure remember them.

Hoping for PF days and nights for us all

Big Guy

Hi Skorpio its lovely to hear your news! I'm really pleased for you and long may it continue.
I have some good news of my own, I'm on my 10th day of PF time thanks to the RC seeds and it's lovely, generally.. this is as far as I get, ten days (which I'm not knocking!) and I'm still going strong with no sign of anything returning (yes I AM touching wood!)
Take care of you
Helen

That is because it worked for you. Just goes to show you how everyone is different so don't knock the alternatives ;)

God has the answers in His good green Earth. We just have to find them.

That is why I am busting. Hope I will have the same good results others have had.

Hi Skorpio!  Since your tag does not show whether you are male or female, I'm going on the assumption that you are female because you wake up with your "nighties" dripping.  If I'm incorrect, please disregard the balance of this post  ;;D

I also don't know your age, but for what it's worth, at 43 I had a complete hysterectomy - instant menopause, hot flashes, and night sweats like you wouldn't believe.  Over the years, these eased off until they were non-existant (no hormonal treatment, by the way).

At age 53, I had my first CH cycle.  That was 7 years ago (yes, that makes me 60 now).  I did not notice any change whatsoever during or between my cycles regarding the night sweats, until just this past year.

Thanks to your posting, I've realized that even while out of cycle, I sweat at night, waking up soaking again - just like post-hysterectomy - just not as often.  Also, I've noticed that I have more persperation  odor than I've ever had a problem with before - in our out of cycle.

I think this might be an interesting question to pose to the ladies (men too, except for the menopause part) here. Have any of you noticed anything like this, or is it just me?  (God, if it's just me - gotta find a better deodorant!)

I'll be interested to see if there is some correlation with CH, or if it's just because I'm getting older.

Sandy

It's never happened to me, but that's just me.

I don't start to sweat until I'm ramping up hard on a hit.  Don't get any of the other side effects either, unless I'm taking a hit.

Best,

George

Hi Sandy,

Thanks for your notes. Yes, I am female, and I see my tag for that, don't know why you don't. I am 42, no shame, probably looking better than ever except when under attacks.  ;)

My Sister is 9 years younger, and have been bugging the hell out of me to drink soymilk, 'cause she is so sure that my sweating is due to menapose. I have plenty of reason to think that is not, but mostly I JUST KNOW!
I explained in my starter post that it's coming on (or hopefully used to) at those times when I used to wake up with CH, and having other, as Helen called it, "silent" symptoms. I am getting better though, the sweatings too. Interesting that I've found no smell whatsoever when I did sweat like that, no matter how drenched I was.

I also noticed that many of us women have periodics in our early fortys. Wondering if it is just a co-incident?

Also, I would love to hear comments about any relations between CH onsets, and any major changes in life, like moving to another location, just had a surgery, or anything similar.

Please comment everyone, and take care!

Skorp (Judith)

I had surgical menopause from a total hysterectomy at 42 years of age. I am 52 now. No change in my CH but my migraines are more erractic. They were predictable every two weeks at the month. Now they are less but more deadly it seems. As far as the CH goes no change whatsoever.

Sorry to hear that Rickyshot, hope all will get a lot better for you!!!

No other weird symptoms? Silent CH?, sweating?
