Title: Hey all this is me Post by woodwrkr on Aug 8th, 2006, 6:25pm Hello all, I'm normally a lurker on message boards but I think that maybe here the shoe fits a lil better :). I am a 42 yr old professional woodworker in Linden Michigan.Started getting cluster headaches in my teens,at first they thought i had dental problems then they treated me for sinus conditions.Wasnt til my mid 20's and a trip to a nuerologist that I was diagnosed with CH's.I am a recovering alchoholic been sober since I was 25, and I found out that my headaches could be treated without narcotics, which was a good deal.My headaches seem to primarily come in the spring or late summer, not sure what my trigger is or if I have one.I'm not chemically sensitive ,I do alot of wood finishing and painting year round.I primarily use imertrex injections and maxalt or relapax.Imitrex inj seem to work more often then most .I prefer to not use the drugs at all.If I feel a headache coming on I've had good luck with really hot showers early in my cycle, but as it gets worse the showers only tend to numb me up.Beginging stages I get one headache a day usually in the am hours,as my cycle progresses the get worse and sometimes 2-3 per day at almost the same time of day each time 6pm 2 am and 4-5 am ...cut my head off please .I am now in that part of my cycle...joy.I stopped yesterday at a health food store and ordered some Kudzu root , hell I think I would drink gassoline if ya told me it would help ( Kudzu is probably cheaper :) )So I'm kinda new at this message board stuff If I can be of help I'll give it a go.If ya need woodworking advice I charge by the hour hehe Jeff |
