Hi, i'm new here obviously, and only recently(within the last few days) have figured out what the hell is wrong with me. I've been suffering fromCH since I was 19, and I'm 35. I've been misdiagnosed so many times, usually migraines, and/or sinus infection. I've been in so much pain,
I thought I was gonna die. I had'nt had a cycle for 3 years, and thought my mysterious headaches were finally gone, then lo and behold, I got nailed by a truck last sunday. The pain was so bad, I was bashing myself in the face with my TV remote control. I said to my girlfriend" I can't be the only one who suffers from this," I did a google search, found this site, and there were all my symptoms laid out in front of me. It's amazing no doctor has ever been able to diagnos me. I'm glad to find other people with this condition. I finally got perscribed "ergotamine tartrate caffine" and have'nt had a major attack today. Has anyone else tried this???? thanx for the support and help.

Welcome to the board,

Misdiagnosis is quite common.

Lots of support and info here. Check out the links to the left of the page.

Print out what you need and take it with you when you go to see your doc. Check out the 02...it works great for alot of us.

O2 is Oxygen, that is a Godsend for a large percentage of us who suffer from CH. It MUST be used with at least a "Non-Rebreather mask and a high flow rate of at least 10 to 15LPM (litres per min.) Read the links at the left side of this screen, Oxygen Info, the Cluster Quiz and everything else. You will learn a lot.

I have used Ergotomine and it was helpful for me, I used a melt under the tonge form is that what you have?

The best advice I can give is READ, READ, READ on this site to educate youself.

Check out the button for the "oxygen info" on the left side of your screen. It's a great abortive for many of the people on this list. But it has to be the right mask, and the right flow. Print out the information and show it to your dr.

wow, thanx, i really appreciate the help.....since i found this site, and figured out what is wrong with me, ive been glued to the monitor reading everything i can, feel pretty silly for not getting the 02 right off the bat, this has been my first cycle in 3 years, and its been an absolute monster, i literally wanted to stab myslef in the eye the other night the pain was so unbearable...the ergotamine seems to be helping alittle, ive only had shadows today since i started it, im almost afraid to go to sleep, knowing, ill wake up with the devil in my head....ill check back tommorow and let everyone know if this drug helped me get through the night....once again, i appreciate the help, info, and support, im somewhat releived to knw im not the only one out there

Hi mroc,
We have another poster who is in Alberquerque. I'm going to drop her an IM so she can come along to chat to you too, its always nice to know someone local who can recommend docs etc!
I'm sorry you have to be here in that you have CH.. but there is no better place to be for us clusterheads so I'm VERY glad you've found us!

Glad you found us-kinda changes your perspective a little huh? Also, do hook up with a local clusterhead-meeting another person with CHs changed my life...about those nighttime beasties...melatonin (9mg) and benadryl (50mg) works for me-let us know how you're doing, okay?

Wow, thanx alot people.......i actually had a decent night sleep, the ergotamine seems to be helping, and my fingers are crossed.....going to the doc on monday, meet him in person, and ill see what he has to say. thanx for the help, info, and referals, i heard from anothe local ch sufferer, and hopefully ill get some local info. thanx again
