Title: New to site, not to clusters Post by navymech on Jul 17th, 2006, 1:31am Hello everyone, I found this site and now im here to stay so I suppose its time to introduce myself, my name is justin and Ive been having Clusters since I was about 15. I was diagnosed when I was about 18 but I have only just now in the past few months started to treat them. My last cyle was when I was 23 and it lasted about 21/2 years and I thought maybe they were gone for good, but they started agian with a vengence the 1st of june. Luckly since im in the Navy I now have some insurance and can start some treatment. I found this site just poking around on the internet and I never looked back, in just two months the information I have gotten has helped me more than any doc that I could talk too, there is something to be said for personal experiance. I am also lucky enough to have a wonderful, supportive wife and two beautiful daughters who have stood by me through my most painful moments and I would be lost without here and her support. I hate that we have to suffer but at least we have a place that we can suffer together and share experiances and information. I go see the doc agian tomorrow and try something else(Imitrex works great, but we are trying to find a preventive) Hopefully cycle is starting to wind down, I havent been having them at night for the past few days so thats always a good sign. |

Title: Re: New to site, not to clusters Post by Guiseppi on Jul 18th, 2006, 10:40am Welcome to the nut house! I'm with you, there is nothing like talking to people who KNOW how I feel and have real life ideas for getting through these things. Just my vote but oxygen and cafergot are still my favorite abortives, lithium is my preventative when on cycle. Good luck, wishing you some peace and pain free days. Guiseppi |
