Title: migraines, clusters, pain?
Post by bambina on Apr 30th, 2006, 7:47pm
:-[well I guess I am new, and would like some input if possible. Have been getting migraine headaches for over 6 years. I have done it all!! Only need a witch to do some voodoo! I have seen 5 neurologists (they all give you the same stuff-antiseizure meds like depakote, topamax etc. taken maxalt, axert, and now the only one that works is imitrex 100mg. Lately I get between 10 and 17 migraines per month in clusters. I rest 4 or 5 days then I get them 3 to 5 days in a row. Top of head, side front, pain in neck. Wake up with them, get them morning, afternoon or evening. NO PATTERN. I don't eat chocolate and only white farmer's cheese. I have done meditation, and accupuncture, gone to an iridiologist (looks into your eyes and gives you herbs) taken herbs that I read about. Taken magnesium, massage therapy. Anything wlse left? Now a new doctor internist just prescribed inderal and I am also taking clonazepan for anxiety (all of a sudden two years ago they say I have it- I just get a little out of breath) another doctor prescribed Prozac because of the help with the serotonin. If anyone has any other ideas to live without or has found some relief please let me know. Thanks to all. :)

Hi bambina,

I'm sorry you're suffering so.  However, I'm confused as to your condition.  Have you been diagnosed with Migraine Headaches or Cluster Headaches or both?  Though I'm strictly a Clusterhead, there are many here who suffer both types of headaches.

If you are strictly a Migraine sufferer, this probably isn't the best message board for you.  Most of us suffer primarily from Cluster Headaches.  Please see the medical info link and take the Cluster Quiz to your left.

Regardless, severe head pain is common to both groups.  There is plenty of medical and successful treatment information to be found by reading through the various board topics and searching the archives.  Hopefully, you'll find what you're looking for.

Best Wishes,

Kris

Hello,

My suggestion would be to get yourself to a headace Specialist. They do exist, though can be hard to find. They can diagnose you properly.

Have you tried putting ice on your head?Or breathing steam or taking a hot or cool shower?

pain stinks no matter what kind it is....I hope you catch a break soon,

Be well and pain free,
lionsound
