Post by MieeRue on Apr 5th, 2006, 12:24pm
Im not really new here been around a while but not for the last 2 cluster free years. Last night i awoke with a phantom. Then this morning a kip 6 or 7. I've been looking around on here this morning for a new doctor in upper east Tennessee. As i know when I go to my PCP it will be a month wait to go to a neuro and I dont think i can stand a month with out any meds or O2. The doctor I have now seems to be a take an OTC pain pill and you will live kinda person.  :-/ Thanks in advance for any help

Hi MieeRue.  Sorry the beast is back.  Here is a link to sufferer recommended doctors.

http://www.ouch-us.org/chgeneral/doctors.htm

Unfortunately, there are only three that have been recommended in Tennessee so far.

Dr Thomas Miller
Nashville

E. Arthur Franklin
Memphis

Jan Lewis Brandes
Nashville

Good luck in finding a good doctor.

1. Search the OUCH site (button on left) for a list of recommended M.D.s.
2. Yellow Pages phone book: look for "Headache Clinics" in the M.D. section and look under "neurologist" where some docs will list speciality areas of practice.
3.  Call your hospital/medical center. They often have an office to assist in finding a physician. You may have to ask for the social worker/patient advocate.
4. http://www.achenet.org/physicians/   On-line screen to find a physician.
5. http://www.headaches.org/consumer/index.html Call 1-800-643-5552; they will send a list of M.D.s for your state.
