i am in Week three with my headaches :( and i love knowing that other people undertand what i am going through. if i could get a response to this that would be great so i know that people actually read the board. ;;D

I'm Twenty years old and have sufferd from the beast since i was about ten years of age. My mother had me took in to the hospital when i had my first dance with the beast. She thought I had a brain Tumor [smiley=laugh.gif] Sadly enough I did not. I Had "GROWING PAINS". it wasn't until I had internet at my House that i started researching my symptoms and discovered that I too have Clusters. I went to my doctor about this and told what i found and he didn't listen and kept telling me I only had bad Migraines. He gave me imitrex which doesn't even touch me. I also took Excedrin Migraine.. Not even close either. The only thing i have noticed to shorten my stay with the beast is chiropractor. As long as my neck gets cracked every other day i seem to have less nights of frequent visits and only one head "pain" per night. My clusters usually last around four weeks and come to visit around every five to seven months. I am in week four so hopefully the summer will be nice to me until around christmas. I will still log on every week to see how everyone else is doing and thank you for all of your support.

Please read the links as to current treatments. If you haven't tried oxygen yet, read the link to the left and take the info to your doctor. Works great to stop the beast in its tracks, fairly cheap and nil on the side affects. Sorry you have to be here but welcome to what you will find to be a loving family.

Seems like trex is the only real med you've tried. Take a look here for other meds known to work for many. Oxygen is my preferred bullet, and Melatonin helps me thru the night.

Take this opportunity to read all you can. You may find some things here that decrease the intensity or frequency of your cycles. If you don't read it, or can't find it, just ask. There are lots of helpful folks here that really do, "get it!"

Hi, and a very warm welcome to you. Sorry you are suffering so much right now.

Please follow the link Jose gave you. It offers the latest in medical treatment. I would also highly recommend that you see a neurologist - preferably one who specializes in headaches. You need a formal diagnosis and hopefully can then see what treatments might work best for you. There are many good abortive treatments like Oxygen that can help make your cycles more tolerable.
