Hello,

Has anyone else had any experience of or reference to CervicalGenic problems being an underlying cause of CH. The reason I ask is that during my last cluster (18 months ago) I took delivery of a new Audi and within 3 weeks my neck was totally locked solid due to the drivers seat with my C1/C2 joint in my neck having gone into spasm. Within days my CH was back, but worse than any previous episode, I was referred to a specialist Physiotherapist who set to work re-establishing my neck joint. During this time my girlfriend (who is also a Physio, but won't work on me as she says I am the worst patient in the world!) introduced me to her colleague who specialises in CervicalGenic problems.

During 1 session she manipulated my neck and within 2-3 minutes induced a flare, she then left it for 2 minutes then manipulated my neck again and within 2 minutes had removed the flare!!! It was a bizarre experience and totally baffled me but it happened, it was like turning on a tap and then turning it off again.

I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience and if so does this mean that there maybe an underlying mechanical problem to some forms of CH??

Or, am I clutching at straws?

Did you have any cycles before you bought the Audi?

IMO, certain events trigger cycles, but are not necessarily the cause of CH. We seem to believe that the cause is in the hypothalamus.

I came down with a cervical disk herniation in December (C6/C7), for which I'm having monthly epidural steroid injections. So far, it has not triggered a cycle.

My last cycle started a few days after lower back surgery, the day after I got off the Vicadin. Coincidence? Maybe. Especially since I "normally" cycled in December, and this one started in April.

Hi,

While I don't mean to make fun ... you might want to restart this thread under a different title.

As a woman, I was quite certain you were talking about a "cervical" problem having to do with genetics. LOL!

Can't afford an Audi, and never found any kind of chiropractic manipulation to help my clusters.

Relief is relief - however you might find it.
