Title: Hat's off to the women! Post by Will_Williams on Dec 29th, 2005, 1:59am I just would like to give kudos to the women able to deal with CH. Not in anyway implying that women shouldn't be able to handle it. I'm just saying, this stuff is enough to make Arnold Schwartzenegger cry like Oprah! I know that we all wish we didn't have it, but just the fact that you all are handeling it and being strong about it reassures me. So keep it up, you all motivate me! I apologize if your offended by this post, but in no way am I being stereotypical. I just wanted you all to know that your my inspiration. I'd swap cluster headaches for child birth anyday! I couldn't imagine having to deal with both :-/. Speaking of... All women who have children and CH. Which is worse? |

Title: Re: Hat's off to the women! Post by Demeter on Jan 13th, 2006, 6:57am I will have to agree with the rest of the women, I am a mother of two and had my last with absolutely no pain meds during childbirth, and I would take that over a CH anyday!!! I would just like to mention, even though I am PF at the moment, the man in my life was not the most supportive during my last episodes. I think his comment was that my "headaches" were making him crazy....bahahaha!! Most people just really do not understand, or really believe how painful a CH really is. Thanks for letting me rant :) |

Title: Re: Hat's off to the women! Post by aussiegirl on Jan 13th, 2006, 8:10am CH is definitely worse than child birth. At least you usually get something (a baby) out of childbirth. What do you get out of CH apart from pain - a great forum to come to share with people who know what you are going through.. Thanks for being here. What I find hard is as a CH and a mum of boys 5 & 3 is that they and dad expect you to be at 100% the morning after. If I can get to 40% after 2 or 3 during the night - that is good - but they don't understand that mum doesn't feel like playing (mum feels like she has been hit by a train during the night). Wishing all the mums (and everyone else) here PF days and nights Kathleen |

Title: Re: Hat's off to the women! Post by AussieBrian on Jan 13th, 2006, 9:02am Having made two babies all by myself I'll never denigrate the pain and trauma suffered by prospective mothers, but here's how Prof GODsby described CH on ABC Radio National: "Please understand that the pain these people suffer during a single headache is equal to a woman going through a very hard 13 hour labour. And they do this every day, two and three times a day, for weeks and months at a time. It's awful." |

Title: Re: Hat's off to the women! Post by agonymum on Jan 15th, 2006, 2:41pm hi , im a newbie , mum of two , son is 16 daughter is 9 at the end of this month . i have tried to describe the pain to friends and family by using the childbirth analogy and telling them that i would rather be in labour for a whole week than have one second of CH pain . it still doesnt sink in . but yeah , childbirth is a breeze compared to this , and gas and air is luveerrrly ! |
