Title: This Holiday Season
Post by midwestbeth on Dec 18th, 2007, 12:57pm
Let's not forget the soldiers and families of those soldiers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.  Two families will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I arrived at work today and found out the son of a long time customer and friend was killed in Iraq on Saturday.   :'(  As a father and former soldier himself, Dave was so proud of his son, Austin.  Austin would have turned 23 tomorrow.  :'( :'( :'(

Pfc Ryan Garbs played baseball and graduated highschool with my son, Chris.  All Ryan ever wanted to be was an Army Ranger.

I helped display and hand out flags on the side of the road for his funeral procession.  His funeral was led by the Patriot Guard (Thank You) I will never forget seeing and hearing all the roaring motorcycles as they drove by.  :'( :'( :'(

To the soldiers and their familes who make sacrfices everyday for all of us here...........THANK YOU!!!  You are in my thoughts and prayers everyday.

Time to bring them home.

In my thoughts too.  :'(

Fortunately, my neighbor's kid is on his way how in time for New Years and then a rather short final tour afterwards, I am told. He's a good kid.

My deepest condolences and gratitude to the families of these two young men.  I think it was Thomas Jefferson who said that the Tree of Liberty must be watered by the blood of patriots.  I know I didn't quote that correctly, and I will not be offended if someone corrects it.

Jonny, thank you for that link.

God bless our kids who are willing to lay it on the line.

Jerry
