Last night our son (16) informed us that Barney the Dinosaur was removed from the networks due to an airport incident where Barney was smuggling drugs in his tail and got arrested.

Not that I really give a crap but I don't remember hearing anything about it and I would think that would have been a news item.

The kid is adament that its true. I can't find anything to validate or disprove his claim.

Anyone ever heard of this?

Can't find anything about this on the news services--the only thing that comes up are the thousands of anti-Barney sites and posts that have existed since time immemorial (well, for at least the last ten years).

i.e., alt.barney.dinosaur.die.die.die

Etc, etc.

Slagging Barney the Purple Dinosaur is an ancient and honorable internet tradition. Maybe this is just the latest calumny on Barney.

I can't imagine that Barney would be allowed into an airport in his dinosaur suit. More Barney slander, I think.

My wife used to put the purple beast on for my little ones. When Liam, now 9, learned to talk one of the first things he said was "off". Meaning turn that ugly thing off. I was a very proud papa I'll tell you! ;;D

my neighboor's kids sing a song about Barnet that says something about him selling dop and smoking cocaine :-/. it is based on the same tune of his opening song from the show, maybe there is where he got the info. It's all a joke.

I have another neighboor that swears the pokemon are devil and they come out of the tv to get her kids ::)...I try not to speak to her anymore...there is something wrong with that woman :-X

Thanks everyone. I figured that to be the case.

This boy (step son) can come home with the most absurd news items. Claims all to be accurate, I prove him wrong time and time again only to piss my wife off for "picking on him". He says it - she buys it hook line and sinker.

A month ago he started telling her exactly what it was like to fight in combat in Vietnam and Baghdad. Oddly I don't remember seeing him standing beside me at any time during my tour in Nam. Can't say about Baghdad, I havn't been there. I'm sure his older step brother - who is on the way - will straighten him out upon his return.

He's 16.

With the ice storm the other day I cautioned him on what to expect and how to vary his driving. He told me that he knew exactly how to drive on ice. My response was "How could you possibly know what it's like to drive on ice, - you never, have, ever!".

As for your stepson, Echo, wouldja kindly ask him to work on this global warming thingie? This weather confusion has my hackles up a bit, especially vwhen you consider we have been near freezing for days now, and I only live in Oregon..........and, then, ask him how he's voting in the prez elections next year...................ahhh, that's right, the punk can't even vote yet!
