I have about a foot of snow by me, had to squeeze myself out to the front stoop because the storm door only opened about 1/6th of the way.  Shoveled the stoop and the crunched through the 1/4 inch thick layer of ice on top of the snow out to my Aztec.  

Lucky for me the wind was blowing hard enough that the snow only stayed on the top of the thing, but I had to chizzle my way into the driver side door through that ice to start it up.  Want to melt as much of the crap off it as I can so I can actually get into it tomorrow to get to work.

That is...if the landlord gets here today to plow out the parking lot.

I need to find me an apartment complex with a garage.... and a contract with a plowing service. :-/

Arrived last night here with a few wind-blown inches, but we missed the ice-crusted topping as it warmed through the night instead and melting today.  Very wintery cold last night though.

Small snowman and snowball fight weather.

Lordy -- I wish ya'll would send a little of that COLD weather down here to Texas. It's 75 degrees today and HOTTer hades. Rained this morning and the humidity is killing my head..... Yesterday we had winter so I guess that didn't last long - today summer again....

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas...... and that's about all it is .... a dream.... oh well, now where did I put the suntan lotion.... [smiley=huh.gif] ::)

Only 3 inches here...but it's here alright...no denying winter is here for sure.  Time to clean off the cars and drag garbage cans across the driveway for pickup tomorrow.  

I love winter... :P

We had three inches but tonight the rain has melted it away.  Sob.

Carolyn you spoke too soon.... winter arrived last night. First freeze of the year.... Of course it's getting back up in the 70s for the rest of the week, but we had ONE freeze so don't put the shorts away yet. ;;D

Well as of this morning I have had about two feet and IT SUCKS!!!  Everything takes twice as long to do.  

At least it has stopped.....for now.

Darling - you're on the wrong side of the lakes!

We rarely get lake snow - we just build the systems heading toward you!

I have to wax poetic for a moment, tho.  While I was out blowing snow off the driveway and patio I was again reminded how beautiful winter is.  

Mundane things like garbage cans and pots put away for the winter look magical under their hats of snow.  Birdhouses that blended into the trees now stand out like little cottages welcoming new residents.  The evergreen branches, weighted under their snow cover, form secret bowers and caves that beg exploring . . .

Next week I'll be cursing the snow, but for now I am renewed and uplifted by it.

We had an Alberta Clipper storm and woke up to 3-5 inches this morning.  More later in the week.

I think you mean I'm on the wrong side of two lakes.  LOL.  If it isn't Ontairo it is Erie.  Sometimes both!  On the bright side, I don't live in the Tugg Hill area where 3' is considered a dusting.

Actually I meant the wrong side of the GREAT LAKES.  Move west of them and you won't have this problem.

Charlie that picture looks like you live in a very homey neighborhood. I love it.

 You will get a reminder in the mail from me to paint those eaves around...hmmm April or May.

Well, who has snow closeby, enjoy it while it lasts. Ours is gone! Complitely GONE. We even got more snow last night, but then it turned to rain and it rained the whole night, so snow melted away. It's kind of sad, because the view all around is so much nicer with bit of snow this time of year...
