Title: Ladies - Favour Needed - Not Ch
Post by Grandma_Sweet_Boy on Dec 1st, 2007, 9:24pm
I need a favour from any of the folks (and I'm guessing the ladies here ;)) that sew.

I'm trying to find Disney fabric - specifically would like any of the High School Musical stuff.

It's really hard to find Disney fabrics here and I don't know if any of you have seen it but would sure appreciate it if anyone knows where I might find some.

Christmas - granddaughter - quilt.  I'm sure y'all know the drill here!!!  Yes, it's late - but she'd accept a length of fabric with a promissory note from Grandma.

Thanks in advance.

Carol

How much would you need?  I have a good fabric store nearby and if the roads are okay tomorrow I'll go out and check for you.

Cotton?  Fleece?

I DID find this online; that may be your only option . . .

Thanks Pat - I would need 3 yards of cotton.  If you find anything Disney - I'd pretty much take it.

Please don't be risking anything to go to a store though.  It's not that the world will end if I don't get it.

I'll check out that link as soon as my coffee kicks in!!!

Wish I'd checked the link out first - actually if anyone could find double bed flat sheets in the High School Muscial pattern - that would work every bit as well.

How many double bed flat sheets?

It would probably take two of them Pat, but please, don't put yourself to a lot of trouble.  I'm sure  you're busy enough with Christmas for your own family.  If this doesn't happen, it doesn't happen.  Emma-Lee doesn't know anything of this so it's not like she'd have reason to be disappointed at all.

I appreciate your help.

Hugs

Now shush Carol - I can do this little errand for you.  It's not a big deal.:D

I did look at Target online this morning (which is where I'll go in the real world to look at sheets).  Is this the type of thing you want?  And is it a problem if they come in sets rather than single flat sheets?

Good think is if you order now, you can get it rather quickly.

Pat - I would be eternally grateful if you could even get me the double sheet set.  Then I can just make her quilt out of some co-ordinating fabric.

Since we were in Disney last year and Emma saw the High School Musical stuff - she has just gone crazy for it (little girls and their fads - we all know this won't last!).

I see a price of around $30.00 I think (I've now closed that window).  Can I just send you the $ in a card in the hopes you'll get it in time?

Thank you so much for this.
Carol

Wow!  Carolyn - thank you so much.  I had no idea where to start with all of this.

You've too have been a huge help to me.

Luckily Emma's birthday is right after Christmas so perhaps I'll get some now with Pat's help and some after Christmas for her birthday.

Thanks ladies
Carol

I'd never get her to leave her bed....lol

She would flip to have a high school musical quilt, especially one made by Grandma...none of her other little friends would have one  lol

Carol - Double sheet set is IN HAND and I will have Brew send it off tomorrow.  Same price as quoted online.

I checked at our fabric store while I was out but no HSM fabrics available.

Glad I can help make a little girl happy.

Pat you are awesome.  Now I have to go back into that site to check out the amount - what about taxes where you are?  We pay 14% and I don't want to shortchange you - shipping charges?  how much are they?

You've no idea how happy this is going to make one little girl!  OMG!!!  I can't wait to see her face!

We're only at 5.5% sales tax and even that's a crime in my book!

Shipping I won't know 'til Brew sends it tomorrow.

Carol,

I went to the mall tonight and when I was in Boscov's (one of our department stores here) I noticed a bunch of High School Musical clothes for sale.

If you are interested in any more HSM gifts, let me know.  I can pick them up this weekend and send them to you.

Linda H helped me get something for the kids I couldn't find last year.  These are the things that this family does.  My heart is so full seeing this come about.  Family helping Family.

Does a heart good.

Thanks gals...

Forgot to mention this, Carol.  There is no sales tax in Delaware.....at least we have something going for us. ;)

Holy Crap - you have no sales tax and we pay 14% here.  Packing up the gear now.

Cyn - thanks for the offer - I think right now if she gets the sheets that Pat has on the way and I believe my daughter checked out a site that Carolyn provided - that should be good for Christmas.  We may take you up on it later on though.

Pegg - you're right - the generosity amazes me - I see it time and time again.

It takes us about a year to catch up here with the latest in kid fads.

Emma believes she's going to grow up and marry one of those cute young boys in that show.  I expect that'll change in another 6 months.  Fickle little thing she is! ;)

Thanks again to all of you for your help

Carol

The sheets are on their way!!  Brew's got all the particulars of the shipping (working for Santa's biggest elf as he does).

Glad I could help - Christmas is for those with small children and grandchildren.  I just have a smelly teenager. ;)
