I timed it tonight..time from eating till first pee that could smell the sulpher...

1 hour. First pee...

So is my motabalism really that fast? Wow...

I understand that funny-smelling pee pursuant to asparagus is a genetic thing--some got it, some don't.

Is the genetic thing having stanky asparagus pee, or is the genetic thing the ability or inability to smell stanky asparagus pee? I was never really clear on that.

Not that it's a really earth-shattering issue--unless having stanky asparagus pee also gives you the ability to make people's heads explode just by looking at them. That would be cool.

I have the metabolism of a turtle . . a very old, menopausal turtle . . . but I can eat asparagus and get up to pee immediately after dinner and the smell is there (i know, I know, TMI)

It is my understanding that everyone's pee smells after eating asparagus but only 20% of the general population has the gene to smell it.

The only reason I mentioned this was due to the debate about this on an old veggie thread when I mentioned asparagus on I think page 4 or 5? (Please excuse this menapausal brain if I have the details wrong).

Least I keep it together at work...afer 5PM all bets are off...this brain can only hold so much. LMAO

I have a serious question here -- Do you guys have ANY life at all???? [smiley=huh.gif] I'm really beginning to worry about your sanity when you start smelling your pee and reporting on it.... (BTW I'm LMAO while worrying)

There's a new product on the market - a Frebreeze CANDLE -- Lite it up in your bathroom - that should stop your problem and you can go back to some normalcy...(place it really close to your potty). ;;D That's Granny's advice this morning..

Ok then.... :-/

Pegg, if you want to check how fast your metabolism is, then eat tea spoolful of sesame seeds and check when they come out. If they take a day or two, then your metabolism is quick, but if they take 3 days, then it's slow.

And no, I have not tried it myself; I picked that advice from Sport magazine.
