Title: c pulmonary fibrRe: We lost a great American today Post by fubar on Nov 30th, 2007, 8:05pm I don't know if you all remember my friend, Sandy. I was posting about her when she was alive, fighting the same disease (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, or IPF). IPF took her mother, sister and brother too. It is a horrible way to die. My heart goes out to his family. He was a great entertainer. -Shawn |

Title: Re: We lost a great American today Post by George_J on Nov 30th, 2007, 8:07pm A piece of Idaho history, too. I doubt that any of us who were around on September 8, 1974 will forget the attempted Snake River Canyon jump in his custom-built Skycycle. http://weirdscifi.ratiosemper.com/evelknievel/canyon.html Here's a recent photo near the jump site. (Not mine.) http://www.soberjack.com/ImagesFromTheRoad%5CSnakeRiver4.JPG If you're crossing the canyon going into Twin Falls on the Perrine Bridge and look to the east, you can still see the earthen ramp that was built on the canyon rim where the Skycycle was launched. Best, George |
