Title: Re: Clusters on Wikipedia.org Post by BobG on Nov 29th, 2007, 1:29pm That’s a nice write up. Wikipedia is a popular site. Sure hope it educates a lot of people. From the looks of it it could very well have been written by someone here or OUCH. Wonder who it was that volunteered to lie still during an attack to have the scan done. Many thanks to a very brave clusterhead. |

Title: Re: Clusters on Wikipedia.org Post by Karla on Nov 29th, 2007, 2:14pm What an excellant write up. Mentions ouch, ch.com, and cluster busters. All excellant sources of info. I like how it mentions in there the treatments including the alternative treatments as well. Kudos to whoever wrote the article. |

That was Ben, inventor of the clustermasx. A lot of us had some input on that article. I added some kudzu info, which I see isn't there any longer. [smiley=huh.gif] |

That's because (to wiki editors), kudzu is an unproven therapy on par with placebo. It is considered inert as far as a medicine, but potentially is quite dangerous and could cause people to explode. Therefore, it should not be in wikipedia. The fact that so many people seem to think it helps is 'interesting' but self-proclaimed 'experts' in the wiki hierarchy have more sway at wikipedia than patients with decades of expertise. The best one can hope from wikipedia is no glaring errors and a link to patient support sites. |

Title: Re: Clusters on Wikipedia.org Post by Melissa on Nov 29th, 2007, 2:48pm nani, if you read the whole thing through a couple times, it's actually quite sarcastic. At least, that's how I took it. |

Title: Re: Clusters on Wikipedia.org Post by Monty on Nov 29th, 2007, 2:53pm Yeah, that was sarcasm. Kudzu I like. Wikipedia is great in some ways, terrible in others. |

This line needs some cleaning up. There is a doctor who thinks he is right about everything that will delete any alternative therapies. Just having the links is good because the article should be about proven facts. Paul |

Title: Re: Clusters on Wikipedia.org Post by Pinkfloyd on Nov 30th, 2007, 12:07am The article has been morphing and building for quite some time. It was a struggle to keep the entheogenic information on the page. (One person wasn't too happy about it and kept removing it) But, once there was enough background info and references, it stayed, as it should. I imagine Nani that at some point, we'll be able to make the Kudzu info stick. The page has continued to grow and has become a pretty good entry into Wikipedia, IMHO. One of the major contributors no longer posts here but obviously continues with his work, helping to spread the word on clusters. Bobw |
