I'm so completely stuck here.

My Godniece is 11 yrs old and has EVERYTHING. I was thinking about a pair of Amethyst & diamond earrings you can see here--> http://tinyurl.com/2prrb9 or is that too small and insignificant? Cripes, I'm not looking to impress her or her parents (who are very monetary), but want to get her something she'll hang onto.

Help! :-/

btw, hubby says to just get her books, but he only says that cause he thinks his sisters kids are very spoiled. ;;D

Ellen just received a Chiastolite (cross-stone) pendant and earrings from her aunt--who brought them back from Chile. They're very attractive, and unusual. I doubt whether your niece would have anything like them. They're exported from Chile, Andalusia in Spain, and a few other places.

I poked around a bit, and they appear to be readily available online.

Ooo, that sounds really neat. Do you have any links George?

If I can't find anything, I might just get her a gift card like hubby suggested (after the book idea... honestly, I think classic hard bound books are worth more than tons of jewelry!, but that's just me).

well I have several...

you can get her a small and cute jewerly box with Hello kitty in it or precious moments. They are sweet and all girls like them to put their special trinkets in it. Actually anything Hello kitty can work, I have seen so many girls at the Sanrio store, it is like they are giving somethig away, stampers, pencils, purses, etc, etc. and they are kind of "posh" so the gift will fit in really well with a girl who has everything ;) they never have enough Kello Kitty stuf..

A set of gel pens in all the colors of the rainbow, specially the scented ones with glitter. ;)

One of those kits to make jewerlry with beads, they are fun and tweens love them! ;;D

Wow... I like jewellery a lot and Mel, those are beautiful! :)

Don't stress to much about it, though. It's the thought what counts, after all! It's hard to say in advance, what is the perfect gift; some seem to be it, but only the one who gets it can truly tell. I have a hard time figuring out what to give my godson; his grandmother pretty much gives him and his brothers everything they ask, so I'm constantly out of ideas... [smiley=huh.gif]

She has her own phone, stereo, TV, Playstation, Nintendo DS, diamond earrings, a horse & a bunch of other shit. So, what do ya think Linda? LOL!

But I'm going with the bracelet and that way I can put mine and Jesse's names on the back so she'll always know who it was from. It won't be something that will be tossed into the garbage to make room for next years Christmas gifts....hopefully.

lol M.R...I can't WAIT until she gets into that phase! It's gonna drive her mother bonkers! ;;D

Well, the ID bracelets were too expensive, so I got her some lovely engraved earrings with her initials PLUS a couple pairs of earrings for me! (they were on clearance, free shipping + 10% off)

woohoo!
