Title: Re: any one effected by Triptophan...(turkey) Post by Mosaicwench on Nov 24th, 2007, 6:57pm We shared Thanksgiving with our neighbors at their house. When we came home, I thawed out a turkey breast and roasted it on Friday for "leftovers." I made stuffing, taters, green beans and gravy - it was awesome - STILL is! I LIKE being ignored. |

Title: Re: any one effected by Triptophan...(turkey) Post by KJ on Nov 24th, 2007, 8:07pm Yep, it got me Ree. We had our T-day awhile back, due to out of town family travel stuff, and I got whacked hard that night, and for several nights after. One of my big triggers when I'm in cycle is msg, or its clones. They do inject "broth" into several brands of turkeys, and this contains msg or other flavor enhancers. I don't know if that is a trigger for you, but it is a common migraine trigger. Buy the 'all natural' bird if you can. Sorry about your head. :( |

Title: Re: any one effected by Triptophan...(turkey) Post by Monty on Nov 26th, 2007, 10:36am I have taken several grams of pure tryptophan, and it did not make me feel like I feel after Thanksgiving. I think the grogginess is from too much food - the liver gets over-loaded. The package mix for stuffing is loaded with MSG and related compounds. Is that a trigger for you? |
