I work today.  It will be slow, since most of my clients offices are closed today, so I promised a good friend I'd do some research for her.

After that, I may do some online shopping.  I just hope my credit card doesn't melt.    ;;D

Jesse drove by Walmart & Best Buy on the way to work this morning and said it was an absolute zoo.  Good thing I don't have to go all the way into town and instead to the local hardware store. ;;D

BTW, I'm going through 47 pages of deals at Buy.com right now...keeeeripes!!   (and thats just entertainment!)

I don't like shopping even under normal conditions, much less a day like today.  I'll avoid the malls as all costs today, but I may browse a little online later.  My daughter did the  5 a.m. thing this morning with some friends, so I'll just enjoy the whole experience through her eyes.  ;)

Truer words have never been spoken.

I don't participate in it and certainly don't understand it.  I didn't get up until 7:15 am this morning!

I actually hate to shop too...esp for clothes.  I love clothes, just don't like to look for them...and forget jeans...uuuuggggh. That's an ordeal.  Unless I just go to the Gap and get "boyfit" that I know fit me...and spend seventy dollars a pair....

NO WAY would I shop today.

I would have liked to go to some of the bigger stores like for 8 or 9am and browsed.

The only thing I needed to get today I got at our local hardware store and that was a Black & Decker coffeemaker with no drip carafe, auto shut off & pause and serve feature for $20!  I also got a $10 waffle iron and a few Christmas things because all their X-mas stuff was 50% off.

Was nice, hardly anyone in the store. ;;D

Well I like shopping for stuff for my house or for stuff for presents - or with my friend Michelle because we behave so disgracefully! We've almost been thrown out of Asda for being two little bugger's more times than I care to admit! Shopping is what you make it LOL

My long standing policy is I do not leave my property on Black Friday unless my family or myself are in need of urgent medical attention.

OK I am one of the odd ones. I like to shop! I did not go shopping today and it's 4:00. My day feels incomplete. Even Lisa asked me why I wasn't shopping. What I did do was  swam laps and worked off the extra food from yesterday. I think once I get over my Black Friday addiction I just may find this a much better tradition. Only problem is I really do need a notebook and some vitamins but I don't dare go to Walmart today.

Did anyone see the lines on the news at Best Buy before they opened? They were in sleeping bags waiting to be first.

IF what I heard on the bidness news last week is true. Because of the amount of dinero being spent online these days. A lot of the major retailers are planning a Cyber Friday to follow Black Friday.
So there should be a lot of good online sales this next Friday. I for one am waiting to see what http://newegg.com offers me this week in their weekly e-mail.

I'm one of those guys that enjoys shopping. For instance: Today I bought Hefty Bags and a haircut.

Seriously, I don't much like shopping for presents on line but I get stuck doing so a couple times every year. It's boring at Walmart, etc. It's impossible to really surprise anyone. I'm looking forward to my new slippers though. http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/recliner.gif

Charlie....I have a little secret...

I have "a thing" for cleaning products.  Love to buy them...I love having the latest thing...that kind of shopping is fun.

Also for skincare and makeup at major dept. stores...it's easy... I know what I want, it's all right there...

UUUGGGGHHH...but picking through clothes, trying them on...blah, blah, blah...and  I cant' afford the clothes I love...I like a Chanel look...and Bohemian Chic...and somehow it always costs a fortune...one I don't have...shopping for clothes is depressing.  Either because they look like crap on, the lighting in the dressing room doesn't exactly show you in a great light (pardon the pun)...and what looks great...I can't afford...

I HAVE TO get jeans though...I NEED them...mine are ripped.  Although I like the look at times....I don't like it everyday, like Im a rag picker...oh...the drama of it all... ;;D

I don't mind shopping for clothes for myself so long as I can try 'em on. I did take a chance on my $8 shirt from Dollar General. It's made in Swaziland and I try real hard not to think of the poor kids making this stuff for 11 cents a day and living in the back room of the factory.  :-/

You must be one of the people that late night paid programming aims for. It's all cleaning stuff. Things like steamers, and stuff from that guy that SCREAMS all his commercials for things purported to be some kind of cleaning revelation. It ain't.

Bet you have one of those robot vacuum cleaners http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/DUST FAIRY.gif

I know what you mean though.

Yup, i'm a nut.  :-/
Gordo had the audacity to wake me up at 4:00 am to go to Kohl's and the mall for shopping.  I mean we couldn't even find parking, so there were a lot of nuts out there right along with us.

After cooking and entertaining yesterday all day for 10 people, and then going out at 4:00 am, I was busted up!  Got some good deals though.

You better watch it Charlie >:( :D....those things WORK...I almost bought the "magic bullet" (the info mercal was absolutely ridiculous)...proudly, I would not give in...and my best friend researched it and people said it was horrible...

My weakness lies more with "Mr Clean"...those types of products, rather than gadgets.

But...I do have an Oreck vacuum and steam cleaner...That guy looks like such a nice man....THATS NOT why I bought them (I'll be paying them off for a year), my mother uses Oreck and they're great...I refuse to get that robot thing...it would scare the crap out of me....just lurking around the house all of the time...

I, very humanly, admit....those informericials do get me to wondering...but other than the Oreck...no, I just lied...I bought the"Pedegg"....for exfoliating feet  :-[
Sherri, who is an honest about her problem...geez first McDonald's...now this....this has been a difficult realization for me.... :-/

Normally, I wouldn't even set foot in a grocery store on Black Friday, but, my two daughters and their husbands were all home for Thanksgiving, and my oldest, who is expecting her first baby in January wanted to go to Babies R Us, which is very near our house (they don't have one near her).

Guess what!  Nobody goes to Babies R Us on Black Friday!  We parked right up front, no lines, no crowds, nothing.  It was actually quite nice.

The Target store next door, however was an entirely different animal.  We did NOT go there.

Sandy

Modified to add:  Today, I went back to Babies R Us without preggo daughter, and spent about $300 on my first grandchild!
