What I know so far: He does have Osteoporosis, he is anemic, and his last ankle breaks have healed up.
Some of the tests done recently have led the docs to say it's looking more and more like Leukemia, but can't say for certain yet, as MORE tests need to be done. They're also checking his thyroid, to see if there's any problems there.
They decided to put off the bone density test since his ankles have healed, and are worried that if they are brittle, the test may cause another fracture. More tests being done Monday, including checking/monitoring his iron level, urine tests to check for calcium and toxins, etc.. Just tests, tests, and more tests..
Dakota's such a tough kid! He's been in good spirits this whole time, but I can tell he's getting a little nervous now. He's never cared for doctors and needles, but he's trying his best to cooperate, and for that, I'm pleased.
He's been through so much in his young life so far, and I really feel bad for him. He's a survivor, though. I'm sure he'll pull through all this in time.
Please keep the prayers and vibes coming, as I'm quite convinced they're helping. By now he should be fighting every doctor and nurse that comes at him with a needle, but he's hanging in there! You've all helped give him the strength he's been needing to endure this! I can't thank you all enough!

It is a lot for a young guy to go through, wishing remedies and correctable measures can be done for him.

This is where a doctor's excellent bedside manner is important for a good attitude with the continued cooperation Dakota will need to get adjusted to and remain positive through this.

Hope you all get some answers soon--not knowing is very difficult.

Thanks for keeping in touch and letting us know. Kids have an incredible way of finding strenghth to cope. We will continue to pray for health, peace and well being.

Vibes and prayers are still coming from me, too!! Sounds like Dakota is a real trooper.... I certainly hope that you can get some answers soon, since not knowing can be one of the hardest things, even if the knowing part brings bad news - at least it gives you something to fight against. I am praying that the news is good, and that whatever happens, you all will get through it. You have the whole family behind you, as has been said!!
