Gotta tell this story - and it's true...

Ya'll know I'm still sorting thru my stuff and trying to decide what to keep, what to sell at a garage sale and what to burn... (decisions decisions decisions). Well, I ran across an old autograph book that I had in the third grade (back in 1953) and guess what? It had Elvis Presley's autograph in it.

My parents had a motel back in those days and Elvis stayed there (several times) and I got his autograph along with his band's (Scotty, Bill and DJ). Actually TOUCHED him to boot!!! Aren't I special! ;;D

Anyhow, my sister-in-law has an account on E-bay so I told her to put the thing on it and see what it would bring. YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE what a guy paid for it. Several THOUSAND dollars!!! And his check cleared!!! I'm still sitting here in shock! I would probably have put that thing on the BURN pile! Go figure.

Now I'm going thru stuff LOOKING for treasures. I know I've got some OLD scrapbooks from my youth somewhere (I never thew anything away - it's got to be somewhere). Maybe I'll find something else relating to Elvis.

Guess you just never know.... Anyone need any German beer glasses. Got a deal going on them this week. ;;D Stolen from some of the best places in Germany....

I've got an autographed true first edition first printing of Gone With The Wind. I wish MM was in as much demand as Elvis!

Nice find, Barbara. :)

What makes it especially nice, as far as the signatures go (and there are zillions of fakes out there on the signatures market) is that you had the provenance--you knew where the signatures came from, and you had proof that they were genuine.

I just read that someone paid 1250 euros for a hair from Elvis Presley head ;;D
