Title: VETERAN'S DAY
Post by inyoureye on Nov 11th, 2007, 5:59am
BEFORE WE DO ANYTHING TODAY, let's bow our heads for a moment and remember our fallen brothers and sisters.

For all who have survived a war (or wars).  THANK YOU.  GOD BLESS

Can I get an AMEN

On a side note, CH.com has many UK members also.  Allies, brothers, your fallen servicemen will be in my prayers as we honor our Veteran's here in the states.

God Bless

It is the soldier, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer,
who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the soldier,
who salutes the flag,
who serves under the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
who allows the protester to burn the flag.

Veterans Day Is not only to remember those that have fallen but ALL veterans for their service to our country.

So to ALL Veterans that are reading this thread I say THANK YOU!

I hope this Veterans Day brings peace of mind and spirit, a sense of our gratitude for your service, and quiet times with those that you love.

I still think about my uncle that used to wake up thinking he was hearing buzz bombs like he experienced during the war...even today.

It's hard not to think of these young men and what they went through for us.

Thank you Chewy and everyone else who has joined in the various Veterans Day threads.  Having served in a time when servicemen and women were looked down on, regarded with contempt and openly mocked or worse, it is great to see the pendulum swing the other way.  This resurgence in patriotism and support for our military makes me proud to have served and happy for those who now protect this country.

The greatest sacrifice is not to die for your country, but to do nothing while others die for you. Honor them for they Honor you.

Those who have the protection of personal freedom  should honour those who paid for it and continue to do so.

Those who serve to keep us free should never be vilified by those who have the liberty and the freedom of choice to do so.

Sadly, the vilification happens all too often.  :-/  Ahhh to live in a perfect world.
